Melinda's heels clicked as she entered the ball. She was immediately greeted by numerous amounts of masked faces. She walked past the grand staircase and glided to the bar. She ordered herself a drink and paid the bartender with a black lace gloved hand. It was nice to see she did not stick out too much. Melinda looked down at her monarch buttery inspired dress. She had always loved butterflies and when she saw this dress she knew she had to wear it. The dress complimented her body well. It's corset gave her an hourglass shape to her already curvy figure. She panned the crowds of people many of them were dancing, having the times of their lives with people they may or may not know. Melinda felt as if she were a stranger in this place. She wondered if it was a mistake to come here. She had only been a citizen of this city for a short amount of time.
She then looked around at the crowds of people for guys who seemed to be alone. She would rather not spend the night alone. She sighed and put the glass she was holding up to her pinkish-nude lips. The wine went down her throat smoothly. She had arrived an hour after the masquerade party began. The party was full of life. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Melinda began to examine everybody's costumes, a lot of them were gorgeous. There were a few that were not her taste, but extravagant none the less. Melinda adjusted her mask with her left, laced hand.
The Grand Hall had been decorated quite gorgeously. The chandelier hung in all its glory at the top of the ceiling. It's crystals were illuminated by the candles in the chandelier. As she stood admiring her surroundings she felt a presence stop right next to her. Melinda's lips formed into a light smirk. She swept her chocolate bangs from her forehead and turned to see who was standing close to her.
