i don't know well maybe i'm in love Sophia wasn't really the kind of girl to dress up. Most of the time she was happy in a pair of cut off jeans and a loose fitting shirt. She liked comfort and ease in her clothes. After all, she spent most of her time working with children, playing with her puppy or scouring the wilderness for the perfect photograph. Sophia's existence didn't require her to dress up, look pretty or even brush her hair. Her entire life revolved around doing things that would make her clothes dirty and her hair tangled and her nose smudged with mud. Sophia liked things that way. She was a tree hugger and a nature lover and nothing was better than walking barefoot through a field and just admiring the open space around you. Well, nothing except possibly Lukas. Sophia sighed, flopping back on her bed and letting Asher curl up next to her. Lukas had infiltrated her life in a way that no one had before. He was in every though and in every dream and now he was living imprints of himself in her house. There was a crash helmet on the kitchen table that he had given her and a couple of his socks were sat in her drawer waiting for when he came to reclaim them and a load of his food in her cupboards for when he randomly came over in the evening to watch a dvd and they discovered that there wasn't actually anything in the house for them to eat. Sophia had now learnt to keep her cupboards stocked with various pasta meals and tins of things, whilst her fridge and freezer had odd bits and bobs to accompany the dog food and fresh veg she bought at the farmer's market every sunday. Lukas was in her house, everywhere. Most importantly was the photo that now hung in her room, above her bed, that she took on their adventure. He was silhouetted against the rising sun, stood on the edge of the cliff and just turning to face her so that his entire profile had been caught by her camera. It was one of the best photos that Sophia had ever taken. Just thinking about him was making Sophia smile. Her stomach was a mass of nervous butterflies and her heart was thumping like a runaway train, but that was all something she'd become accustomed to whenever Lukas was in question. It was hard to describe how it felt just to be around, but it was similar to feeling like a room didn't have enough air, then suddenly opening every window and letting a storm outside kiss your skin. Sophia just felt like she might explode with sheer feeling whenever Lukas was around her. He made everything so much more vivid, like her amplified her life and made everything larger and more amazing than it should be. He was the reason she was getting dressed up tonight – he had planned an adventure for her, now she was planning a surprise for him. She left Asher asleep on the bed before going to the bathroom and showering, using the shampoo she'd bought especially for tonight and making sure her legs and underarms were shaved silky smooth. Tonight Sophia wanted to be irresistible. She wanted Lukas to want her as much as she wanted him. Sophia wanted to be perfect for him. However, Sophia wasn't naturally good at the whole beautifying process, using an internet web page that she left open on her laptop to help her do her hair. She applied various products to her natural waves in order to give them a more distinct curve, towel dried it loosely and then blasted it with a hairdryer before adding extra curls to her hair with the curling tongs. Sophia was glad she'd started this whole process four hours before the party, because all of this was going to take a very long time. An hour later, she had her hair curled like the website had instructed her. Next, she had to work out how she was meant to pin it up. For now, Sophia decided against it, leaving her hair be for a while, smothered in hairspray, while she turned to her makeup. This was another thing she didn't have a clue with. She picked up the foundation she had borrowed from Nora and looked at it blankly. She'd never really worn foundation and when she had it had been a powder. Resigned and clueless, Sophia phoned Nora and put her on loudspeaker as the girl instructed Sophia on what to do from her house. Sophia carefully spread the foundation over her skin, amazed as it covered all of her freckles and left her skin looking like pure porcelain. She felt like a china doll. Next, her eyes. Sophia planned on making them alluring and mysterious, considering they'd be the main part of her face on show because of her the mask for the masquerade. Carefully, with a combination of shades of purple and a lot of mascara, Sophia achieved the look she wanted and was satisfied. After then covering her whole body with a shimmery body dust and carefully slipping into her dress, she resumed styling her hair. It took three tries to get right, but eventually Sophia had pinned back all of the dark curls and left a few hanging loosely. The pins glittered with tiny butterflies, matching her necklace that she carefully hooked around her neck. It was an hour before the party and Sophia found herself mostly ready. She finished putting on her makeup, slipped on her shoes and woke Asher up to take him downstairs and put him in the puppy cage for the evening. She put his food in with him too, along with a bowl of water, before packing essentials into her little silver clutch bag, picking up her mask and leaving her house. Ten minutes later, a taxi appeared outside of her door. Sophia slipped on her mask before leaving, not about to let anyone know who she was. Her perfume immediately filled the taxi with it's spicy yet sweet scent. Sophia applied her lipstick in a small compact mirror before putting both in her bag whilst the taxi driver took her to her destination. The plan for the night revolved around letting Lukas find her. At the start of the party, she would give him a clue about what colour she might have on her, then maybe an hour later she might tell him where abouts she was, then maybe an hour later she might say she could see him. Sophia was basically planning on playing a game with Lukas until he found her. The sooner he found her, well the sooner he would get a prize. Sophia was certain now that he liked her – the night at the beach had confirmed as much for her. He thought she was beautiful, he had been so close to kissing her... Sophia wanted tonight to go perfectly. She wanted him to dance with her without realising it was her. She wanted him to track her down and corner her until she had to tell him who she was. Then she wanted him to kiss her. Sophia's skin erupted in goosebumps at the mere thought. There was such tension between the two of them, she wanted their first kiss to be truly special. The taxi arrived at the destination five minutes before the party started, allowing Sophia to get out and scope the area for Lukas. She had no idea what he would be wearing tonight either. As soon as the clock struck the hour and people were allowed inside, Sophia sent Lukas a text message. ”Keep an eye out for a little bit of purple.” Sophia was actually wearing a lot of purple – a colour she didn't normally wear – but Lukas didn't have to know that. Sophia moved to stand slightly to the left of the dance floor, where the band were just starting the music. As more people arrived, a man in a black mask that matched his entirely black suit, asked Sophia to dance. She smiled graciously and allowed herself to dance with the stranger, who was no expert at the practise. Then again, neither was Sophia, but if his movements hadn't been enough to tell her that he wasn't Lukas, then his black hair might have just done it. After retiring back to the side of the dancefloor, Sophia resumed her watch for Lukas. She thought she'd seen him a couple of times, but she hadn't yet worked out if they were actually him or simply had the same colour hair. Sophia checked her phone – no messages – and allowed herself to go and get a drink in order to distract herself. Sipping something mildly fruity, Sophia sent him another text. ”I'm awfully bored, might have to find a big strong man to dance with.” She was being teasing and flirty but she didn't care. Tonight was meant to be fun and free and flirtacious and she was going to completely take advantage of that. Checking that her skirt was still adequately covering the back of her legs, Sophia mingled with a few people, before taking to simply circling the room slowly. Lukas had to be here somewhere. oufit. for lukas/kate. Zomg I love them. img from taper jean girl! @ caution.

lukas did not like dressing up. he was lukas theiran; adrenalin junkie, arrogance was his middle name, sarcasm was his mother tongue. he was pretty certain if you looked him up in the old english dictionary they would be the definitions given. boys like lukas theiran did not like dressing up. boys like lukas theiran wanted to spend all their time riding a motorbike, in a leather jacket, exceeding the speed limit a lot more than he should. though at this point he was not only pretty certain, he was deadly certain that new definitions would have been added in the past month. it would now read - "lukas theiran; adrenalin junkie, arrogance is his middle name, sarcasm is his mother tongue, former womaniser, now bewitched by a certain sophia jaye". sophia jaye. the very reason he had spent hours picking out a suit. a full suit... a shirt, a jacket, trousers and dress shoes. she had forbidden him from wearing his much loved leather jacket. apparently that isn't an acceptable jacket for this evening. after much grumbling on lukas' part, and many threats on sophia's; he had begrudgingly agreed to her terms. it was nothing to do with the idea of another man coming along and sweeping her off her feet... honest. lukas glared at the very thought of another man with sophia. he'd never been a possessive guy, or even jealous. but there was something about sophia. she had possessed his every breath, every thought, from the moment she had strolled into his life. she made him feel things he'd never experienced before. everything became crystal clear when she was there. she made him a better person. he didn't want to lose this, not for the sake of a jacket. so jacket be damned.
from the moment he'd woke up that morning, his mind had drifted to what she would be doing. how she would look. he debating sneaking around, bribing asher to somehow unlock the door and getting a sneak peak of her dress. but he had the feeling that if he did that, she may make it so he'd not only never be able to have children, but also never be able to walk again. she was deadly set on this evening. on how perfect it was going to be. he was allowed to know nothing. he didn't know what colour her dress was. how she was going to have her hair. whether she was going to wear heels or flats. what kind of mask she'd be wearing. all lukas did know is that he had to find her. in a sea of other guests, all wearing masks. he wasn't too concerned at this point, he just knew. the electricity that seemed to tingle between them, whenever they were within earshot of each other was a sure give-away. he knew she'd look gorgeous. but he also knew that this would result with how many other men thriving for her attention. lukas didn't know what she'd done to him. the dictionary was correct; she had truly bewitched him. mind and soul. the thought of the other men did cause his jaw to clench slightly, his stomach tightening. this only cemented the decision that this bloody penguin jacket was necessary. the leather jacket will have to wait for another day. he had utter faith in her, and how she felt for him. the picture of him above her bed from their first adventure proved this. but this didn't matter to lukas... of course the picture mattered to him, everything about her mattered to him. the picture made him smile at the memories, as did the helmet on her dresser. what lukas meant was that, though he knew sophia had feelings for him, he did not like the idea of other men at all. in all honesty, it made lukas feel threatened. an emotion he had never experienced before.
he had taken the bike out that morning, to shake off his thoughts. as usual only one thought remained. the thought that screamed at him that his bike felt awfully empty. as though a part of it was missing. a part of him was missing. his waist felt cold without the arms which he had become so accustomed to being wrapped around him. as he sped through the empty roads, he challenged himself to go faster. anything to distract himself from the emptiness. arriving home, no matter how fast he'd pushed himself, they feeling hadn't gone. in fact, it felt more poignant than ever. "i miss you." he typed into his phone. hovering over the send button, debating whether to send the text or not. he exhaled a deep sigh, slowly deleting the text. letter by letter, vanishing. he glanced at the clock, before jogging up the stairs, taking them two at a time in haste to get to the shower. as the water streamed over his body, he washed his body twice before stepping into the steam filled room. his thoughts trailed back to how she would look, whilst he styled his own hair; having towel dried it and now perfecting it with wax to give it the desired affect. splashing himself with his aftershave, he stood back from the mirror. giving himself the once over before heading over to his bedroom.
lukas had to admit, once the suit was in place, it was not as bad as he thought it was going to be. lukas, who had never worn a suit before, had images of him having to parade about in some bad prom suit which looked like his gran made it. this, luckily, was not the case. spending hours trawling through shops, lukas had stumbled across the perfect suit. a suit that hopefully would please sophia, as much as it did him. it practically screamed lukas' name. it had an edge to it, a dangerous edge to it. an edge that other suits didn't have. his mask only confirmed this. the jagged edges and texture adding to the overall image. which would hopefully set him aside from all the other guys in penguin suits; who would no doubt be attempting to seduce sophia. "well" lukas thought to himself. "unless they're willing to take a barbie plaster to the head, i doubt they stand much of a chance,". slipping the shirt over his torso, he did up each individual bottom in front of the mirror. he wasn't exactly sure what sophia saw in him. sure, he wasn't bad looking, but he wasn't gorgeous. sure, he was nice, but he wasn't flawless.
lukas rode his motorbike to ball. careful not to ruin his hair with his helmet. as parked, he slipped on the mask, noticing the hordes of people entering the building. of course he was fashionably late. his eyes scanned the crowd, looking for any show of a person who could be sophia. searching for any inkling that lit within him, telling him it was her. nothing. "nothing yet," lukas reminded himself. he sauntered up to the door, handing over his invitiation and entering the hall. people were everywhere. he swore under his breath. finding her would be a nightmare. he wouldn't put it past her, to be perched on a balcony behind him with a slingshot. after all, she'd already done it with a paintball gun. right on cue, his phone vibrated in his pocket. "one new message - sophia" it read. he read the message, his eyes immediately snapping up, racking through the crowd for any sign of purple. no, she was too tall. she was too fat. she had blonde hair. frustration began to kick in as he walked through the crowd. at one point, a blonde in a red dress managed to stumble into him. catching her before she could hit the floor, he narrowly avoided being covered in whatever she was drinking. after listening to her thanking him, he nodded politely and began scouring the room again.
another whole hour had gone, and lukas still had caught no sight of sophia. he was beginning to want to tear his hair out. right on cue, his phone buzzed. "one new message- sophia". he ground his teeth together at what he read. a big strong man to dance with indeed. "fuck sake," he growled under his breath. how could he not find her. how?! he cursed himself. his eyes sweeping over the crowds infront of him. she had to be somewhere. purple. look for purple. tracing the outlines of various people, his eyes fixed on the colours. blue. green. red. blue. brown. black. pink. red. red. pink. purple. green... wait. lukas' eyes snapped back to the splash of purple he'd captured in the corner of his gaze. purple. a wide smile splashed across his face. sophia. just to the left of the dance floor. he'd done it. he'd found her. creeping through the sea of people, he headed to behind where she was standing. pulling out his phone, he began to text her the first reply to any of her texts this evening. " maybe you should..." a smirk on his face as he saw the girl in the purple reach for her phone. bingo. sneaking up behind her, he lowered his lips to her ear. his breath brushing against her neck. "i hear you're awfully bored, and need a big, strong man to dance with?" an arm circling her waist, pulling her closer to him. "i guess i'm not who you're looking for..." his eyes sparkling at her from behind the silver mask.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Sophia adjusted her mask carefully, making sure she was still perfectly concealed. It was an hour and a half into the party and Lukas hadn't yet materialised. Still, there was no need to fret yet, Sophia reasoned with herself, perfectly calm behind her mask. Another man asked her to dance but she declined. Instead, the man offered to get her a drink which Sophia accepted. He returned with two glasses of punch and Sophia accepted graciously, making small talk with the stranger for a while. He was called Mike, he was twenty three and worked in engineering. She was Katherine, twenty, a florist. Sophia was having great fun, talking to strangers and making up identities for herself. This kept her amused for a while until she felt a buzzing in her bag and pulled out her phone. Lukas had replied to her and it was now incredibly obvious that he had spotted her. Sophia smiled to herself, putting her phone away when someone's arms snaked around her waist. She inhaled slowly, filling her lungs with the well memorised scent of Lukas. He was there, at her ear, whispering to her, and she was glad the mask covered her cheeks and hid her blush. Sophia smiled flirtaciously, turning to face Lukas, letting her eyes look up at him from under her heavily mascara'd eyelashes. ”Well, I suppose you'll do, but don't you want to wait for a slower number first? I must confess that I'm not a very apt dancer.” she sipped her drink carefully, holding the glass in one hand and tracing Lukas' jawline with the other. ”I ought to be careful before letting masked men whisk me on to the dance floor after they so boldly approach me from behind.” she continued, using the confidence that the mask gave her to her advantage. She traced his lower lip with the tip of her finger before letting her hand drop and rest on his shoulder. Sophia finished her drink and gave the glass to one of the waiters who was walking around. Then, her undivided attention was back on Lukas.
She had masked her tell-tale scent with new shampoo and a different perfume, meaning he had to recognise her physically, yet Sophia needed none of that. It wasn't his hair or his face or his smell that confirmed it was Lukas, but the feel of his arm around her and the warmth that burnt across her skin and flared with every beat of her pulse. As the music changed, Sophia extracted herself from Lukas' arms somewhat and took his hand. ”I think this song might do, don't you?” she asked, slowly leading him to the dancefloor. She was glad she'd thought to practise moving in her high heels, because otherwise Sophia would have fallen over already. However, she found herself perfectly able to walk, letting the heels influence the swing of her hips in the process, to the middle of the dancefloor, where she let Lukas take her in his arms. Sophia had never slow danced before and wasn't quite sure how, but mimicked those around them by linking her hands behind Lukas' neck, whilst his sat on her waist. She stroked the back of his neck softly, toying with little strands of his hair subconciously, while her eyes remained fixed on his. The song playing was from the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, Sophia recognised it immediately and couldn't help but compare the two of them in their masks to the starcross'd lovers at a costume ball. As the song built up from a few simple chords on a piano, Sophia leant her forehead on Lukas' shoulder gently, just enjoying how close they were, before lifting her head again to look at Lukas. She couldn't stand keeping her eyes away from him for long.
”How did you find me? Or did you just tap on every girl in purple and see which one would let you dance with her?” she teased, stroking the back of his neck again, very gently. Sophia was impressed with his ability to dance – turning them in slow circles and keeping rhythm and not treading on her feet. She didn't know what she had expected, though from her surprise it couldn't have been very much. All too soon, the song ended and Sophia was glad that the golden glow she could feel around them didn't vanish when the music did. ”Do you want to go find somewhere nice to walk outside?” she asked, stepping back from Lukas a little and offering him her hand again. She felt weird being in control of the situation, but a good kind of weird. Outside would be more comfortable, less crowded and more private, she decided. Generally, Sophia was always most comfortable out of doors and as they started walking outside she looked up to Lukas, wishing she could take his mask off and admire his face properly. The lighting outside made the glitter on her skin shimmer a bit, along with the clips in her hair and the slight shimmer in her dress material. Sophia felt almost like a princess in that moment, standing outside under the gathering stars as if she were from an age long gone. Once they found a courtyard to stand in or walk around, Sophia let Lukas' hand drop and stood a step further from him. She didn't want to lead him from here on, she wanted him to come her. ”Do you think I look nice tonight?” she asked innocently, holding her dress out slightly, resisting the urge to do a twirl and show off her hard work. ”Because I must say, you do scrub up rather well.” she complimented him, her voice still light. She would wait for him to give up his teasing manner before she surrendered hers. It was all like a big game still, except Sophia knew that really all the game served to do was build the suspense and she could already feel it starting to grow between them.

the scent that hit his nostrils was not her usual perfume. drawing her closer he noticed it wasn't even the scent of her shower gel. "oh, she's good", lukas thought to himself. though a part of him felt strangely pleased that he wasn't the only one who noticed such minor details about the other. a signature scent was personal; usually sophia smelt soft and gentle. like jasmin. beautiful by delicate. tonight, she smelt richer. something stronger. the scent tickled his nostrils. gone was the soft edge, instead it was replaced by a fiery essence. something that screamed dominance and power. sophia's attitude and words confirmed this. tonight, it was clear that unlike on the adventure, she was going to be the boss. he cocked an eyebrow, mimicking the flirtatious grin that was toying with her lips, as one of her fingers began tracing his jawline. " i'll keep you busy until somebody better comes along," he replied, a slight challenging tone to his teasing. " a slower dance? i thought we were going to do the macarena, in that case i retract my offer,". he immediately shut up when her finger resumed trailing his jawline, and moving onto his lips. as the now familiar tingling began, from where she had made contact with him; he raised his eyes to the ceiling. "lord give me strength," he murmured, exhaling a deep breath.
his eyes were fixed upon her as she sashayed across the dance floor, leading him to the spot she wanted. lukas trailed behind like a lost puppy. and quite frankly, lukas at this exact moment, did not care. he couldn't drag his gaze away from the way her hips swung from behind, accentuated by the heels. damn, he liked that dress. infact, he liked that dress far too much. anything that made him feel like this couldn't be good for his health. his eye riveted over her, as she snaked her arms around his neck. when she rested her head on his shoulder, he exhaled deeply. "this i can deal with" lukas thought to himself. no delicious hip swinging. this relief didn't last long for poor lukas; as he had to inhale a shaking breath when the hands threaded around his neck began toying with his hair. tugging and playing with it. goosebumps erupted over lukas' entire body. "public place. public place. public place," he muttered under his breath, his eyes squeezed shut. the muscle in his jaw twitching at the amount of control he was having to demonstrate. "is she trying to murder me this evening?" lukas thought. he began to count to a hundred in his head. though his eyes never left her. he couldn't help by keep watching her, even when she had her face buried in his chest, his eyes remained glued on the top of her head.
he laughed slightly at her remark. "oh, they all let me dance with them," throwing her a wolfish grin, until she began stroking his neck again. a slight tremble ran through his body. lukas leered at her. she was doing this on purpose. "two can play at that game!" lukas thought to himself. one of his hands trailing up and down her torso. his head dipping, he traced her jawline with his nose, placing a delicate kiss in the hollow between her jawline and ear. how did i find you?" he thought to himself, searching for an answer. shrugging, he replied nonchalantly "i danced with every other girl in the room, until i found the one who wasn't interested in dancing with me," pulling her closer to him. "since you were waiting for a big, strong man to come and sweep you off your feet," laughing softly into her hair. allowing her to lead him off the dance floor, he barely noticed the people all around them. the music barely registered in his mind either. all he could see, all he could feel was sophia. he decided at that moment, the penguin suit was worth it.
the moonlight outside captured every aspect of sophia's outfit. the glitter, the porcelain tone to her skin. it took lukas' breath away. he barely paid any notice to their surroundings. only her. always her. though he did pay attention to when she dropped his hand, and took a step away from him. his eyebrow quipped slightly. though it relaxed slightly when he heard her talk. "nice?" he exclaimed, taking a step towards her. his hands snaked around her neck, releasing the tie of her mask. gently slipping it away from her face. "you don't need me to tell you, you look nice," shaking his head earnestly. "i physically cannot drag my gaze away from you. with, or without the mask, the dress, the makeup," his fingers stroking over her cheeks. "you are so beautiful," wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her into his body. "i can barely stop thinking about you. my every single thought is about you. i want you more right now, than i've wanted anything else in the world," his eyes gazing into hers, his hands still cupping her face delicately. "and you ask me if you look nice?" lowering his lips until they were millimetres from hers. "understatement of the century, sophia,".
then he pressed his lips against hers. everything else in the world ceased to exist. all that existed to lukas theiran was sophia jaye.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Slowly, Sophia felt the gold mist descend around them. The felt warm, despite the cool air, and a little dizzy, despite the fact there was no alcohol at the party. No sooner had she taken a step away did Lukas step closer to again, his hands touching the exposed skin of her neck and making goosebumps appear wherever he touched. Sophia mimicked his actions, taking off his mask as well and letting it fall from his face into her hand. Her body felt like it was trembling with anticipation – there were no waves here, no one to interrupt, nothing to see them but the stars that were rapidly appearing overheard. Sophia's eye's met Lukas', her cheeks colouring at his comments until he was so close she could feel the electricity sparking between their lips without them even touching. Sophia was hardly able to breathe – he thought about her like she thought about him, he wanted her just as she wanted him. It was too much happiness to contain and from the moment his lips touched hers she felt it all explode from her. She could have glowed she was so happy. Sophia let her arms hook around Lukas' neck, pulling him as close to her as she could manage. The kiss was soft and delicate, but Sophia felt her own urgency reflected in Lukas and the kiss deepened. Sophia ran a hand up the back of his neck and into his hair, softly locking her fingers into it and let herself be lost in the sensation that was Lukas.
It was only when she desperately needed to breathe properly, instead of shallowly between his kisses, that Sophia broke away. Her face was still mere millimetres from Lukas', she could feel that her lipstick had all been kissed off her lips and her heart was pounding so loudly in her ears that she could barely hear herself think. Sophia still felt as if she was glowing, her smile radiant as she let her eyes lock with his. She couldn't think of the right words to say, instead letting her fingers trail across his face again, memorising the curve of his jaw and the softness of his cheeks. ”No waves knocked you over this time.” she said softly, the edge of teasing back in her voice but counteracted by the tenderness that coloured her speech as well. Sophia tiptoed and gently pressed her lips to his again, just once, before settling back on the ground. She suddenly desperately wanted reassurance that this was a permanent settlement for the two of them and not just one night of kisses and nice things before Lukas decided he had gotten what he wanted and moved on to another girl. Irrational panic briefly surged through Sophia who then looked up at Lukas with a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. ”Do you really mean what you said..?” she asked, her voice still soft, as if anything louder would shatter the beautiful web of happiness that surrounded them. Unfortunately, Sophia was a girl who needed her insecurities to be met in this instant, before she fell for Lukas even more than she had already.

the kiss began softly; almost hesitantly on lukas' part. he wasn't entirely sure how she would react to kissing him. whether she even wanted to kiss him. or whether in actual fact she was serious when she told him that she was hoping for a big, strong man to sweep her off her feet at the ball tonight. all his doubts and questions were answered as she crushed her lips into his; essentially deepening the kiss. god, he wanted her so much. his senses felt as though they had been magnified. every touch, every smell, every taste seemed to hold so much more significance than anything he had ever experienced before. one of his arms remained looped around her waist, pulling her as close to him as it was physically possible. but, i wasn't close enough. he wondered to himself, if anything would ever feel close enough. a low moan left his lips, as she tangled her fingers into his hair, locking their embrace. lukas couldn't quite believe this was real, his hands sweeping over her back; as if trying to convince himself that she was real; this wasn't a cruel dream. this wasn't cosmic universe playing another cruel prank on him.
sophia was the first to break away from the kiss; not retracting far from him. lukas' chest rose and fell, as though he'd just ran five miles through a raging north-easter. he leant into her hand, as she once again began tracing his jawline; a content sigh filling the air around them. sophia broke the silence, lukas laughed softly "you are never going to let me live that down are you?" he asked. reciprocating the single kiss she placed on his lips, before releasing her so she could fold onto the ground. he knelt down next to her, "well, it's a good job i suppose. since i'm never going to let you live down the fact your 'driving' gave me a minor head injury," mimicking the word 'driving' with his fingers. his brow furrowed in concern, as he saw the vulnerability reflecting in her eyes. he didn't have to press her for answers though, as she spoke before he could. his exhaled a shaking laugh.
he stood up abruptly, his arms slipping down he lifted her from the ground. setting her down upon one of the fence railings that surrounded the courtyard. his arms remained wrapped around her waist, to prevent her from falling. being sat on the fence, sophia's eyes were level with lukas'. eyes that were looking at her with the depth of a million emotions lukas was experiencing, but couldn't explain. "don't ever doubt what i say," he brushed his fingers through her hair, before cupping her face delicately in one hand. "if i didn't mean it i wouldn't say it, i may not be that great with words, but i know what i mean... i just can't always put it into words" his lips pressed briefly against hers. "if i didn't mean it, i wouldn't have spent the past month trying to capture your attention; by enduring a four am wake up call, smelling like a baby prostitute with that shower gel. i was even forced to wear a barbie plaster on an injury you inflicted, and i certainly wouldn't have worn this penguin suit, if the thought of another 'big strong man' sweeping you off you feet; hadn't made me feel sick to my stomach," he watched for her reaction, smiling gently. "does that answer your question?"

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Sophia gripped Lukas' arms as he picked her up, slightly alarmed by what he was doing. However, as soon as she was sat on the railing with Lukas' arms holding her there securely, her body relaxed considerably. She was now at eye level with him, unable to break away from the hypnotic stare he was giving her. His laughter before this moment had half reassured her, half worried her, but now that he was speaking Sophia felt her stomach loosening slowly and her heart beginning to race again. She turned her face into his hand and kissed his palm gently before he kissed her lips, momentarily stunning her mind with the electric sparks until she focused on what he was saying again. Once again her cheeks began to flush, before his descriptions of everything that he had gone through began to make her laugh. Her paranoia and insecurities from mere moments ago disappeared and her eyes regained their teasing glow. ”You know, I meant you when I said a 'big strong man', right? I said it to wind you up to see if you'd get jealous.” she explained, not quite teasing but more sheepish. Sophia let her arms rest on Lukas' shoulders and her hands link behind his neck, playing with his hair again. ”I guess I just like winding you up.” she said, her cheeky smile resuming it's place across her cheeks.
She felt buoyant, floating, generally high on happiness. Sophia couldn't help it, now that she was allowed to kiss Lukas it was one of the only things she wanted to do. She leant into him, pressing her lips to his again. Each time, it felt like the world dissolved around them. She tugged Lukas a little closer to her, one of her legs catching behind his thigh and holding him close to her again. Sophia could hear his breathing and feel his heart thudding against her chest and taste his skin and smell his deodorant and was going into sensory overload of Lukas. Her hands ran through his hair and over his neck and shoulders and across his collarbones, memorising as much of him as she possibly could in one kiss. She'd waited to kiss him for weeks and all of the passion she'd felt for him was being released in this kiss. She bit his lower lip gently and traced his teeth with her tongue and didn't catch herself before her throat emitted a low moan at the sensations running through her whole body. She felt like a teenager, like the first time she'd ever been properly kissed was by Lukas. Sophia could feel that Lukas wanted her too, feel the warm spots that his hands left on her body and the racing of his breathing. She'd never felt so desired.
It didn't matter who saw them or if people thought they were being publicly indecent or anything similar. Sophia had, in her arms, her idea of the perfect man. Someone who payed attention to the little details and the small things she liked, who played with her dog and who mocked her shampoo and who hogged her tv and let her lean on his shoulder and taught her to ride a motorbike and made her feel beautiful. When the kiss finally ended, Sophia wasn't sure who ended it, she rested her forehead on Lukas'. ”I think I found a big strong man to dance with. Problem is, he's stolen my mask so I can't go back into the masquerade.” she said, looking to the floor where both of their masks lay abandoned.

closing his eyes, lukas nuzzled his face into the curve of her neck. shivering slightly, though he doubted this was due to the temperature. "well..." he paused, his lips brushing against sophia's neck and throat as he spoke. trailing from the side of her neck, to her throat, he paused every other word to plant her porcelain flesh with kisses. "you certainly completed your mission batman," his nose trailing along her jawline. "you might have notice i was only slightly jealous, just a tiny bit," he murmured into her ear. correcting himself as she once more wound her fingers into his blonde hair. a feeling lukas was swiftly beginning to like very much indeed. as her lips placed themselves back on his, he groaned, breaking away to correct himself; "ok. i lied. a lot jealous," the kiss changed; it became different. charged- almost desperate infact as their lips crashed together. nothing in the world existed to him, bar her and the way she was making him feel. the emotions that were boiling under his flesh, what lukas was experiencing was an almost animalistic need. "mine, mine, mine" his mind insisted, the deep thrumming inside him reminding how much he wanted her. he much he needed her. her hands travelled over his body, exploring his arms, his torso, his neck. a ragged gasp ripped from his throat, as her leg wrapped around him, drawing him in closer to her. until their bodies were pressed up against eachother. "sophia" he whispered against her lips, as she captured his bottom lips between her teeth. a low growl reverberating in the back of his throat. his subconscious screamed at him, trying in vain to remind him where they were, what they were doing. this voice fell behind the predominant voice that was claiming sophia as his. his hands exploring the curves of her hips, sliding over her back. his fingers tracing up and down her spine. the heat of her flesh searing through the thin material of her dress. "fuck," he murmured into her lips, his hands tangling themselves in her hair; as she moaned into his lips. lukas wasn't entirely sure who broke the kiss. it could possibly have been due to lack of oxygen. that would be the only explanation. neither of them would have noticed any bystanders staring at them in disdain. lukas' chest heaved up and down, his arms however remained wrapped about sophia's waist. brushing his lips gently against her forehead, before lowering his to rest on top of her, he sighed. "you are going to be the death of me, you know that," his voice sounded hazy, yet somewhat deliriously happy. like somebody who had smoked a few too many mary janes. he groaned slightly under his breath, as he saw her looking at the masks. "you're telling me that i have to cover your face with that again?" releasing her gently, making sure she wouldn't lose balance on the railing, he sauntered over to where the masks lay. picking them up, he toyed with them in his hands. "well then," once more nearing where sophia sat. he slipped the mask over her face, tying a delicate bow behind her head to keep it in place. "since i can't admire your face, because of the mask," lifting her down and setting her once more on the ground, he smirked at her. a familiar smirk that practically screamed that lukas theiran was bad news. "i guess i'll just have to make do with admiring your body instead," the smirk developing into a wicked grin which succeeded in lighting up his whole face, as he leered at her. lukas suit & mask.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Something in Sophia's mind recognised how jealous she'd made him and was pleased by it. She'd wanted to him want her and she had succeeded. Even when their kiss was over her body felt highly charged, electric and her body felt alive. Sophia let her hands leave Lukas as he bent down to pick up their masks, using one to steady herself on the railing and one to check her makeup wasn't smudged and adjust her hair. She twisted the little pins back into place just as Lukas turned to tie her mask back onto her face. ”Don't worry, once the party is over you can take the mask back off again.” she reassured him, not noticing the possible innuendo that could have been made of her comment. Sophia didn't work in innuendos. She took Lukas' mask from his hands and tied it back onto his face as well, smoothing his hair and brushing her fingers down the back of his neck again, noticing the reaction this gained and liking it. Sophia allowed herself to be put back on the floor, watching Lukas through the mask that accentuated the dark, mysterious makeup of her eyes. The smirk he gave her made her body flush warm for a second and she was incredibly glad of the mask that would hide the blush of her cheeks. As Lukas leaned in to her Sophia picked her bag up off of the floor, not quite remembering how she had even bought it out to the courtyard and reapplied her lipstick in the same small compact mirror she'd used in the taxi. Sophia smoothed her lips together, checking her reflection before returning the makeup to her bag.
With her mask on, Sophia was able to adopt a more confident, more flirtatious demeanour that matched Lukas' smirks and leers perfectly. ”Unfortunately for you, my body is considerably lower down than yours, so you won't be able to do much admiring at all. Perhaps you'll have to leave it all to your imagination.” she said, feeling a little bit like a vixen as she did so. Sophia didn't make comments like that, but the persona that her outfit gave her did. Her comment was mostly true however – her dress was conservatively cut across the chest, leaving most of her cleavage protected from eyes, and her legs were modestly on display. He would have to have filled in the gaps with his imagination anyway. The thought made Sophia flush warm again. ”In the meantime, maybe you should ask me to dance?” she suggested, taking Lukas' hand and looking back at him as she led them back into the main hall and back onto the dancefloor where several couples were moving around the floor with practised grace. She didn't know the dance, but she wanted to try it anyway. ”Let's just copy what everyone else is doing.” Sophia suggested, giggling suddenly as she realised how clueless she was about dancing. She put one hand on Lukas' shoulder and kept hold of his hand with the other, letting him lead them around in a weird kind of a dance. Sophia kept laughing as she took too many steps or lost the rhythm or once trod on Lukas' foot and whispered an apology quickly. Every time she wasn't looking at her feet she was looking at Lukas' face, admiring him even with half of him covered by a mask.
At the end of the song, everyone stopped to applaud the band, before readying for another dance. As the band struck up a slower song, Sophia turned around to dance with Lukas but found him gone. She couldn't see where, but someone else was in his place and taking hold of Sophia in order to lead her around the dancefloor. Sophia tried to protest but he was much stronger than her, leading her in a slow circle. Sophia looked around for Lukas but couldn't see him. ”I'm sorry, it's very nice to dance with you, but I was kind of with someone.” she said to the person who was leading her around the dancefloor. His hair was dark and his mask was black like his suit. Sophia didn't really like him. ”I watched him dancing with you earlier, he's not a very good dancer, so I figured I should show you how to really dance.” the stranger said, his breath smelling slightly of alcohol. Sophia frowned a bit, she didn't thinkthat alcohol was allowed into the party. ”I really should be going though..” she said, trying to pull away from the person who just pulled her closer. ”Don't cause a scene, you can go after the song, if you still want to.” The guy leered, but it wasn't a leer that she was used to with Lukas, it was a little more confident and self assured as if he knew Sophia wouldn't want to leave him. ”Please just let me go and find my friend...” she asked, taking her hand away from the man and trying to tug her wrist free, but his grip was too strong for little Sophia. Worse, she couldn't see Lukas.

lukas needed a drink so bad. after the encounter with sophia outside, and then having to endure a full dance with her pressed into him; he felt as though he was about to explode. all the talk of 'removing her mask later' - (yes, he had read into that innuendo perfectly well. before even realising she was actually wearing a mask literally), and of letting his imagination doing all the work. well, lukas' imagination had worked overboard this time. when the dance had ended, he slipped away whilst she was applauding the band. his mind told him that she wouldn't even notice. he would only be gone a moment, grab a water and head back. sophia none the wiser to the disappearance and her being the reason behind it. only he wasn't gone for the short time he imagined. the drinks line had been ten times longer than he imagined. instead he went to the bathroom to drink out of the tap; the line for that was even longer than the one for the drinks. finally managing to grab a drink of water, he'd set his glass down and set off in search of sophia. pushing his way through the crowd, he made his way to where he had left her. lukas' eyes scoured the room, searching out the flash of purple, his eyes had been fixed on all evening. his eyes almost skipped over her, as she was dancing with another man. his eyes widened before narrowing. taking in the scene in front of him, her back was towards him, so he could see the leer on the mans face. that also meant he could see the tension in sophia's shoulders as she removed her hand from his grasp. stepping forward, he stood a foot behind sophia, making his presence unknown to her. he listened to every word that was said. he heard her ask him to let her go, that she was with someone. he also heard the guy tell her not to cause a scene. lukas' jaw clenched at this, his teeth ground together. his hand pulled off his mask, slipping it into his trouser pocket. when he witnessed the strangers hand tighten around her wrist, jerking her back to him when she'd tried to walk away; lukas had had enough. stepping forward, he inched infront of sophia, separating her and the guy. he noticed immediately the stench of alcohol which hit his nostrils. putting his arm out across sophia's chest, to gather some distance between the guy who was pressed up against them. much to close to them for comfort. "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" the guy spat, his face now inches from lukas' own. merely cocking an eyebrow, he lowered his gaze to where the mans hand was grasping harshly onto sophia's wrist. his eyes snapping back to his opposers, his jaw set. "off." his voice was cold. steely cold. gesturing once more, "now," he growled. the dark haired male merely smirked at him, a challenging eyebrow raised. "or what?" he jeered. lukas tilted his chin, a sneer capturing his lips. "we are not having this conversation," lifting sophia's wrist tenderly, with the mans hand still wrapped around it. "you remove them, or you lose them, simple really," he shrugged. lukas half expected him to laugh in his face, but he didn't. instead he loosened his grip enough on sophia's wrist, for lukas to pry his fingers over without hurt her. he turned his back on the guy, shielding sophia protectively from him with his body. his shoulders slightly shaking with tension, the muscle in his jaw twitching under his clenched jaw. he was positive that she could see his pulse thrumming in his neck. his body was brimming with adrenalin, but not the kind it was accustomed to. this wasn't the kind of adrenalin high he got from riding his bike, or whenever adrenalin junkie task he decided to try and complete that day. this was raw aggression. the guy had hurt her. his grasp had been locked around her wrist. sophia's delicate wrists being crushed as she was held back against her will. his gaze lingered on the wrist. ligature marks remained on her wrist. red welts in the shape of a mans fingers against her flawless complexion. lukas growled under his breath. this wasn't like the playful growl that had left his throat, a mere five minutes ago, when he'd been kissing sophia. this growl was full of restrained anger. anger that was fighting to overflow his restraints. his eyes which had been full of fire, softened when he saw her expression. instead the fire was replaced by regret. his fingers wrapped delicately around her damaged wrist, lifting it towards him. "i'm sorry," he murmured, his lips brushing against the finger marks that marred her wrist. "i didn'-". lukas never got to finish what he was going to say; as a voice sounded behind him. he began to twist around, whilst keeping sophia sheltered by his body, but didn't move quick enough. the fist hit the side of his face before he even had time to react. he knew the man had been drinking; he had smelt it on him, when he had been telling him to back off. the fact that he had been hit from behind caught him off guard. he made no noise, his eyes shot back to sophia's as his head jerked forward from the impact. lukas at this point, did what any other self respecting male in this situation would have done. lukas' control had been stretched beyond its stretching abilities tonight. like an elastic band, it inevitibly had to snap. first, this guy had been dancing with sophia. this was enough to make lukas annoyed. the fact that he was dancing with her against her will, only resulted in catapulting the annoyance into anger. anger that had already made him want to rip his throat out. the next action had been the cherry on-top of the already sky high cake. he had hurt sophia. his stupid, gnarled hands had held her so hard he'd marked her flesh. this my friends, was him crashing the boat onto the rocks, setting it on fire, and dancing on the fucking embers. if sophia hadn't still been behind him, lukas would have already hit him moments ago. but he'd been purely focused on making sure she was ok. now hitting lukas from behind, this just gave lukas the excuse he needed. his arm ushered sophia further away from him, and closer into the crowd of people that were already beginning to form, as he spun around. knowing sophia was safe, his adrenalin pounded in him, masking any pain he should feel. he felt little more than a stinging sensation from where the fist had connected with his head. "see" lukas thought to himself. "this is why i needed my leather jacket. it's hard to look badass in a penguin suit,". he wasn't exactly going to let that stop him, but made a mental note to remind sophia later. leather jacket or no leather jacket, lukas smashed a fist into his attackers face. lukas suit & mask.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love When getting ready for the evening, Sophia had only really been concerned with impressing Lukas. She'd dressed up for him to notice her; she hadn't really thought of the fact that other men might notice her too. Sophia was incredibly modest in that respect. Really, she should have considered the possibility; it might have prevented the situation she was currently in. Sophia tried to twist her wrist away from the man, only succeeding in giving herself something akin to chinese burns. ”You're hurting me, let go.” she said to the man, twisting again but with no avail. Out of no where, Lukas seemed to appear, stepping between her and the man who still gripped her wrist. Immediately she forgot about the pain her wrist was in and was simply relieved to see Lukas, glad of his protective arms. Sophia watched Lukas, slightly scared by his anger and the sharpness of his voice, but it all worked, her wrist came free and she allowed Lukas to pull her away. Still, his anger continued to scare her and Sophia let her small hands cup his face. ”Lukas, calm down. Please? It's alright...” she tried to soothe him but achieved nothing. His pulse was hammering under her fingers and his forehead was creased in a stern frown. Sophia bit her lip, letting him kiss her wrist but not really caring about her bruised skin right now. She wanted, needed, Lukas to calm down. People around them were starting to crowd and whisper to each other, despite the music, and Sophia couldn't see the man who'd been dancing with her because of Lukas' protective stance in front of her. ”Come on, let's get off the dance floor, we'll go somewhere else. Maybe go get a pizza or something.” she said, her hands now resting on his shoulders, rubbing the tense muscles slightly as if it would relieve them. It might have worked if someone hadn't punched Lukas.
Sophia gasped, trying to grab at Lukas' hands but he was already turning around. ”Lukas, don't!” she tried to tell him but he wasn't about to listen. Sophia was tiny behind Lukas' body, even in her heels, and had no physical strength in order to restrain him. It had said on the invite that no one was allowed in with alcohol and anyone found to have been drinking any would be thrown out. All Sophia could hope for was that someone would realise and get the drunken man out of the party before things got even worse. Sophia tried to pull Lukas back, her hand catching his forearm briefly before he broke her grip and punched the man in front of him. ”Lukas, NO!” she half yelled, trying to move in front of Lukas but getting pulled back by one of the people watching. Sophia struggled against whoever was holding her back, watching as another punch was directed at Lukas and Lukas threw another punch back. Trying the same thing she had tried with the dancer, Sophia twisted her wrists so that the person restraining her broke their grip and quickly stepped towards Lukas, half in front of him. She wanted to slap the person who'd hurt her, who'd hurt Lukas, who had put this dark stain across what had been a fantastic night. Sophia didn't get angry very often, but right now she was angry and Lukas was hogging all of the glory. As soon as her appearance distracted the two boys from punching each other, she dealt a sharp slap to the stranger's face. It probably wasn't very hard, but it was the psychological impact that it had. Sophia always felt that the impact of a girl slapping a guy around the face was a strong one, and the stunned look on the stranger's face certainly confirmed her thoughts. Whilst the assaulter was preoccupied being shocked, Sophia took Lukas' wrist and pulled him away from the fight, through the rabble and to an empty space at the edge of the dancefloor.
It was only after all the action that the party security decided to show up. Sophia watched the large men come up to them and quickly stepped in to explain before Lukas was questioned, because she felt he was still probably too wound up to talk about it. ”There's a drunk man on the dance floor – he punched my friend and it started a fight.” she explained as diplomatically as possible. After a couple more questions Sophia and Lukas were asked to leave, which Sophia accepted graciously. They'd spent enough time at the party, she probably would have wanted to leave soon anyway. She turned to Lukas and hugged him, her arms around his torso and her head resting on his chest, her mask still on. Once the security found the drunken man still swearing and blinding at the people around him, the three of them were escorted out. Sophia stood outside of the ballroom, inhaling the outside air slowly before letting her breath out. She had kept an arm around Lukas at all times. Now, she turned to him, forgetting her mask was still on. ”I'm sorry about all of that.. I should have gone to find you and not let him make me dance and then none of this would of happened and you wouldn't of gotten hurt.” she said in one big breath, trying to get her apology out before Lukas cut across her. She stood on her tiptoes and gently kissed both of his cheeks before laying an equally gentle kiss on his lips.
”Go back to my house and order pizza?” she suggested, very gently brushing her fingers over Lukas' face where bruising was bound to appear soon. She didn't want to let him out of her sight ever again after the fight tonight. She was just as protective of him as he was of her. ”We'll put the tv on and watch reruns of malcolm in the middle and eat the popcorn you left at my house before the adventure.” she said, resting her head on Lukas' shoulder. The adrenalin and momentary fear from the whole fight had disappeared and simply left Sophia tired now. Her feet ached from the heels and her hair felt itchy from the hairspray and all she wanted was to shower and cuddle up to Lukas in her jammies. She rubbed her wrist absent mindedly, waiting for Lukas' answer. Tonight would certainly be a night to remember.

somewhere in the back of his mind lukas heard sophia shout his name, over the crowd. his head twisted towards where she was standing, a knee jerk reaction, to check she was ok. before he realised what he was doing, and righted himself; another punch hit him square in the face. she was ok. he'd seen that much. someone in the crowd was making sure she didn't get involved. out of the corner of his eye, he could see her struggling against their grip. he delivered another blow to the mans face, in retaliation. he barely noted the stinging sensation that was burning his knuckles, the aching sensation in his jaw. no, he didn't notice that all. what he did notice was when sophia threw herself into the middle of the mix. he froze. immediately dropped his fist. his whole body tensed, ready in case the stranger didn't do the same. his chest heaved upside down, his breath ragged. lukas' eyes never left the man in front of him, his glare fixed on him for the slightest hint of a threat towards sophia. only it appeared sophia didn't need lukas' help that much. she slapped him. lukas' eyes shot open as wide as the guys himself. she had actually slapped him. his body shot forward, once again angled slightly in front of her. if he'd hurt her for not wanting to dance, lukas didn't know what his reaction to being hit by her would be. he wasn't willing to risk her getting hurt. though, it appeared lukas wouldn't need to hit him again, as the stranger appeared too shocked to react.
even stood at the edge of the dance floor, lukas' body remained tense. coiled, ready to spring. his eyes scouring the people infront of them, waiting. he remained near silent when the security guards were questioning them. they must have noticed his demeanor, as they asked them to leave. deep down Lukas registered that this might upset sophia. he'd ruined her night. if he hadn't left her and gone for a drink then this wouldn't have happened. and he wouldn't have ended up causing a brawl in the middle of the ball. drawing unwanted attention, which had resulted in them being thrown out. the guards appeared to have located the drunk man, as he was led out of the venue with them. lukas situated himself between sophia and the man. but noticed how the bodyguards kept exchanging glances and knowing looks between each other. his eyes followed the drunken man as he stumbled away from where they stood. a slight glare on his features. he only broke his gaze away from his back, when sophia wrapped her arms around him. he looked down, exhaling slightly, his muscles relaxed around her mildly. he noticed the possessive arm that remained around him; "i guess she didn't like the idea of me fighting," lukas thought to himself, sighing as she kissed him gently. "you're sorry? its my fault sophia. i shouldn't have wandered off. i shouldn't have turned my back on him. rule 101, that is. the most basic principle," he shuck his head slightly. noticing for the first time his knuckles were bleeding. 'must have caught my knuckles on his teeth...' lukas realised. returning his gaze to sophia's "i shouldn't have hit him, because then i'd be able to remove your mask right now, without getting blood on you from where i managed to ruin our evening by punching a drunken stranger, and tell you how beautiful you look,". nodding at her suggestion of pizza, he took her hand lightly. though he flinched slightly at the pain it caused to shoot through his knuckles and into his hand. leaning into her hand, he turned his head to where her fingers were tracing patterns over his cheeks, and lightly grazed the palm of her hand with his teeth, before covering it with a kiss. "that sounds perfect," he murmured. "i've got the bike with me, come on,". he set off in the direction which he'd left the bike. a small limp to his step, which he tried to disguise, a mild grimace crossed his features as he clambered onto the bike, tensing himself for when sophia's arms wrapped around him. he exhaled a shaky breath as she did, he turned to her, his teeth gritted slightly. "it's okay. he just got me in the ribs a bit more than i should have let him,".
lukas rode to sophia's more carefully than he had ever done. his hands stained with dry blood. only a small amount was now oozing from the teeth shaped gashes on his knuckles. these meant he couldn't put his gloves on. putting his helmet on caused him to wince too. when they arrived, lukas offered his arm to sophia to help her off the bike. shrugging he said, "i don't want to get blood on you," he followed her up the walkway, the helmet hung loosely in his left hand. immediately embraced by the warmth of the house, lukas sighed contently. it felt like home. he turned to her, placing his helmet on the stairs, before backing her up against the wall using his hips. he would find a way to hug her, even without the use of his hands lukas decided. burying his head into her neck, he spoke "i am really sorry, i didn't mean to scare you" placing a tender kiss in the hollow between her neck and ear. "that is the last thing i ever wanted,". forcing himself to draw back from her, "i guess we should inspect the damage," he muttered. surprisingly looking at her wrist, and not his own injuries. "come on," he muttered, taking her hand in his good hand, he led her through to the kitchen. whilst filling the bowl with hot water, he turned to face her. he felt drained. all the adrenalin had now left his body. all he wanted to do was take some painkillers and lie down with sophia. "let me get out of this bloody suit," slipping the jacket off his shoulders. a frown shadowed his face, which he tried to mask before sophia could notice. he settled it on the back on the chair before beginning to unbutton his shirt.
lukas stood there for a moment admiring his battle scars, with a critical gaze. a decorative scattering of bruises were already appearing on his ribs and stomach. glancing in the kettle he could already make out the faint outline of a bruise forming on his face. "damn, i won't be pretty enough for you anymore." he muttered. wandering over to the sink, he'd avoided cleaning his knuckles, leaving them to last. he knew this would hurt like a bitch. bracing himself, he plunged his hands into the hot saltwater that was pooling in the sink. his eyes rolled back slightly in pain, a sharp hiss sounding from the back of his throat. "fuck," he cursed. gritting his teeth, he turned to look at sophia's face. "i hate to say this, but i think i might need some of those barbie plasters..." glancing down into the now slightly pink tinged water. "in fact, scrap that. barbie bandages," trying to lighten the mood.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Sophia hushed him gently, putting a finger to his lips. ”Let's not play the blame game. You didn't ruin anything.” she reassured him, taking her mask off herself. She also took the main pins out of her hair so it fell straight down her back instead of being looped up in the crazy hairstyle she'd spent hours on earlier. Her hair felt still with hairspray but she shook it out, freeing the curls a little. Sophia then put her clips and mask into her clutch bag and allowed Lukas to take her hand. Every flinch he made led to Sophia cataloguing his pain and where he was hurting. His hand, his chest, his face.. She would treat it all later. She didn't mention to him that she didn't have her crash helmet or a jacket or even trousers on, instead simply sat on the back of the motorbike and carefully tucked her skirt around her so that it would act like a set of shorts. She wrapped her arms around him, careful not to touch any areas that might be tender and kissed the shoulder of his suit, seeing as his face was covered by his crash helmet. ”I'll have a look later and try to stop it hurting so much.” she promised, sliding her cool hand over his stomach very gently, hoping the colder temperature of her skin might sooth the pain a little. The journey back to her house passed slowly, where Sophia dismounted with the aid of Lukas' arm and fumbled in her purse for her keys. ”Don't worry about getting blood on me. I graze myself so much that I'm used to it.” she said, but he didn't seem to be paying attention. The lack of barking when she opened the door indicated to Sophia that Asher was asleep in his cage in the kitchen which relieved Sophia – she didn't want to deal with a hyper little puppy at the moment.
At first, Lukas' actions confused her, backing her up against a wall, until she realised that he was keeping his bloodied hand away from her. She wanted to tell him that the blood didn't matter, but she doubted he'd listen. Instead, she stroked the top of his head gently as he burrowed into her neck, kissing his hair gently. ”It's okay, I'm not scared now, that's what matters.” she murmured into his hair before he broke away. Sophia followed him, lacing her fingers with his when he took her hand and helping him slip the suit off. She stared at his chest in horror – an odd emotion to experience when staring at a chest as fine as his – due to the bruises appearing there. Sophia bit her lip, resisting the urge to run her fingers over the bruises and check for breaks in his ribs. He was coming up in bruises everywhere and it made Sophia feel sad, more than sad, and guilty. As he stood over the sink Sophia stood behind him and gently rubbed his shoulders, trying to relieve the knotted muscles. ”Of course you're pretty enough for me, silly. I'm not that shallow.” the teasing in her voice was incredibly faint, but it was just about present. His hiss of pain sent a chill through Sophia who was already looking through her medicine cupboard before he even asked for the plasters. She giggled slightly at his mention of barbie. ”Don't worry, I have some here with little monsters on that I give the boys at the nursery who don't like barbie either.” she told him, taking a box down from the cuboard, along with bandage strip, bandage tape, calamine lotion, cotton wool, a pack of paracetamol and a pack of lollies. Sophia smiled a little and took the things into the lounge, nodding to Lukas to follow her. Working with children gave her a few extra pieces of knowledge, like how to bandage a wound and how to make someone feel better about it afterwards.
Once Lukas sat down, she sat next to him and poured the calomine lotion onto a cotton pad in order to dab it onto Lukas' knuckles. The cold liquid would soothe the irritated skin and cool it down. ”Just leave that there for a second and I'll cut some of this bandage for it.” she said, measuring out the bandage and taking a few thin plasters out of the packet. Once the calamine lotion had absorbed Sophia put the plasters over the cuts between him knuckles and then wrapped the bandage around his knuckles in order to protect them from further irritation, lastly she put a little tape on the bandage to secure it and finished it off with a monster plaster, simply because she could. Sophia smiled at her handiwork and kissed Lukas' cheek gently. ”I'll go get some peas out of the freezer for you to put on the bruising.” she told him, standing up with her bundle of bandages. ”And you get a lolly for being so well behaved.” she teased, pushing the bag towards him. Sophia was used to offering the little kids sweets when they got hurt and couldn't resist giving Lukas one too – it was far too amusing. In the kitchen, Asher was beginning to wake up so Sophia opened the door to his cage and let him sleepily plod around her ankles while she wrapped a bag of frozen peas in a tea towel for Lukas and poured a glass of water for him so that he could take some painkillers. As she returned to the lounge she handed him the makeshift ice pack, put the glass on the table next to her sofa with the paracetamol and sat down beside him. ”Those should make you feel better and the bandage should protect your knuckles while they heal up.” she said, laying her hand, very gently so they were barely touching, over his injured one. ”You can stay here tonight too, then we can see how you feel in the morning.” Sophia continued, stifling a yawn as Asher jumped onto the sofa and curled up, spread over her lap and Lukas'. ”I haven't got any pjs for you to wear though, so it'll be boxers for you.” she said sleepily, not thinking about the fact he would be sleeping next to her nearly naked, just grateful for his presence.
”I'm going to shower, then I'm going to bed.” she informed him, slowly standing and letting Asher fall onto the sofa gently where he continued to lay. ”Feel free to go upstairs, I'd stay with you but this hairspray is making me itch like crazy.” she explained sheepishly as she left the lounge and headed upstairs where a warm shower was just what the doctor ordered, before she went into her room and changed. She heard Lukas coming upstairs just as she was half towel drying her hair and smiled as he walked in. ”I've already locked up and Asher will go and sleep in his cage later on, so we can go straight to sleep.” she told him, her voice getting sleepier by the minute. She left the towel for her hair on the floor and walked over to Lukas, hugging him very gently. ”Thank you for tonight, even if it went a bit pear shaped.” she said quietly, before tiptoeing to kiss him. And just like that, the world around her dissolved again.

lukas' shoulders shuck as he laughed silently at her words. his muscles tensing under the first touch of her hands, before they began to loosen and unravel under her rubbing."i guess you really aren't that shallow," twisting his neck so he could look at her, as she was ferreting around in one of the cupboards. "you still can't keep your hands off me, even when i look like this...". his hands felt as though they were on fire. he wanted nothing more than to rip them out of the water, but he knew sophia would merely chain his hands into a bowl of pure alcohol. lukas decided that water was definitely the best option for him, clenching his jaw, he sloshed them around a bit in the water- attempting to rid the cuts of any germs. lukas face lit up at the mention of little monster plasters. "awesome!" he drawled. he craned his neck around to try and see them. "now these i like the sound of,". he sat like a good boy, watching her go to work on his hands. the lotion stung slightly before it began to soothe and cool the inflamed flesh. "now why couldn't we get plasters like these in the first place," lukas grumbled, glaring slightly from under his hair. as sophia wandered back through to the kitchen, to get his some frozen pea's, he began riffling through the bag of lollipops. mutterings under his breath- "ew banana, oo strawberry, oh my god blackcurrent!" having decided to not settled for one mere lollipop, he took an assorted handful of his favourite flavours. a guilty expression on his face as she walked back in the room. a strawberry lollipop hanging almost too innocently out of his mouth. "what," he spluttered. "you said i could help myself,"... having announced that she was going for a shower, lukas sprawled across the sofa feeling decidedly sorry for himself. his hand hurt, his ribs felt as though someone had kicked him with his motocross boot a few times. and to make the day even worse, there was nothing decent on tv. lying on his back, a packet of frozen pea's hiding his bruised face from the world, lukas grumbled under his breath. "abandoned for the sake of itchy hairspray... typical," he huffed. eyes scanning the room, they settled upon a notebook and pencils resting on the sideboard. wincing slightly as he sat up, he lifted off the sofa carefully. his muscles ached slightly, but they'd be worse in the morning- he knew that. hopefully the painkillers should kick in soon. picking up the notebook and pencils, lukas once more lowered himself back onto the sofa. it had been a long time since he had drawn anything. the whole drawing didn't really fit into his image. he wasn't exactly the sensitive artistic stereotype. how many artists do you know that spend their weekends racing around rocky terrain on a machine as heavy as them? um... none bar lukas really. he'd stopped drawing in school; when people had raised their eyebrows at it. apparently you can't both be in the art club and the motocross club, without it raising questions. so lukas had quit. just stopped one day. and he'd never drawn or painted since. but here, his fingers twirled the pencils, thick lines beginning the on paper underneath his grip. swirling edges, sharp curves, lukas drew what was on his mind. he'd never been able to draw normally. everything he drew had a touch of fantasy too it. it was as if he had never stopped. the single lines became shapes. the shapes becoming a person. the minutes ticked by, and lukas remained hunched over the picture; flinching slightly everytime his hand throbbed. by the time he heard the shower stop, the picture was nearly complete. completing the picture with some rougher edges, and shadowing. he'd drawn her. how he saw her. he signed a single name underneath it. sophia. laying the notebook without any thought on the table, he rose to his feet and headed precariously up the stairs- trying not to jar his ribs. he nodded to what she said; before wrapping his arms around her, drawing her body into his. he met her apology with his lips. to show her he was fine. he wasn't affected by tonight. that he'd be do it all over again tomorrow, if it meant protecting her. lukas wove his fingers into her damp hair. taking her face into his hands to kiss her. it wasn't enough. deepening the kiss, a breath caught in his throat. she made him want her so much. he couldn't even explain it. capturing her bottom lip between his teeth, before releasing it, he murmured into the kiss. "you do realize," his head dropping to her neck, his teeth grazing against the skin, before feverishly tracing her jugular with kisses, settling on her pulse. "that my leather jacket could have prevented that fight,". breaking away gently, he placed a kiss on the tip of her nose. "i just didn't look bad enough for him not to hit me," grinning sheepishly at her. "come on," gesturing towards the bed. he released her, not that he wanted to, but reminding himself that he'd be in a bed with her all night. slipping the trousers over his hips, he sat on the corner of bed to remove them. so he didnt have to bend over too far. he felt decidedly unclothed, only being in his boxers around her. normally, it wouldn't bother him. but tonight, yeah. he didn't look too great. he walked out of the room and over to the bathroom, without saying anything. he brushed his teeth before standing back and admiring himself in the mirror. his ribs were decorated with black and blue patches, his cheek was now stained with a forming bruise. wiping his face gently. he felt self conscious, which for lukas, was a first. he'd never felt like that before. he didn't want her to see him like this. he looked awful. wandering back over the landing, he crawled into the bed next to sophia. unable to contain a groan, at the pain in his ribs as he did so. lukas' eyes squeezed shut, until he was under the covers. exhaling deeply, he twisted onto his side to face her. watching her expression, he cupped her face in his hand. "i'm okay," he whispered, brushing the stray hair out her eyes. his gaze tracing every inch of her face, memorizing everything about her. " just kiss me, please." he sighed. desperation tinging his voice.

i don't know well maybe i'm in love Sophia was very gentle with Lukas, at least at first. In her mind, every part of him was bruised or hurt and she didn't want to hurt him any more. However, when he began to kiss her more deeply, his hands wrapping in her hair and running across her skin, something more primal took over. He wasn't something essential and cliché like oxygen that she couldn't live without, he was more like putting sugar in your tea. Before you did it, you didn't realise what you were missing out on and then you had to have it all of the time because the tea wouldn't taste right otherwise. He was like a favourite pair of shoes that you wanted to wear all of the time or a film that you wanted to watch over and over again; something she wanted so much that it felt like she needed it. Sophia didn't agree with cliches but she was quickly beginning to feel like one. She let her body press gently against Lukas' his arms prompting her flush against his bare chest, and moaned ever so slightly as he tugged her lower lip between his teeth. She had never been kissed the way Lukas kissed her – it was more than teenage sexual frustration that she had been used to in the past, it was a primal need and a sexual attraction that was so much more adult and so much more demanding of her body that she wasn't sure how to handle it. Instead, she just let it take over her.
His breathless voice made her stomach quiver. She felt the vibrations throughout her body, her nerves tingling in anticipation. Sophia's neck was now the object of his kisses and she let her head roll to the side slightly, her hands lightly tangling in his hair as if to hold him where he was. It felt so unbelievably nice, the way he kissed her, making her gasp or moan ever so slightly with tiny little things. When he settled on the most sensitive part of her neck, her pulse, Sophia felt her eyes roll back just slightly and gently drew him away before her body completely lost control to the way he was making her feel. She smiled at his comment as well, rubbing his hair. ”You looked bad, in a smart way, like James Bond.” she said gently. ”Besides that, you also looked remarkably handsome.” she complimented him, sitting on her side of the bed and swinging her legs up and under the covers, adjusting her pillows so that she was comfortable. Sophia watched Lukas, watching his muscles strain when he removed his jeans and the stiffness of his posture when he went to the bathroom. She could only think of a few explanations and of these the most logical was that he was ashamed; he was ashamed of his bruised skin, as if he thought Sophia would mind. She didn't mind his bruises at all, at least not because of their physical appearance, what mattered to Sophia was that he had been hurt at all. She couldn't stand the idea of him being hurt, especially over her.
When he returned, Sophia shuffled closer to him on the bed, cupping his cheek gently with her hand just as he did hers, and rubbed her thumb gently across the unbruised skin. She didn't bother saying anything about his injuries, because he obviously didn't want to hear it, instead she complied with his wishes. First, she leant in and gently kissed his bruised cheek, only letting her lips brush the tender skin before she moved on. Without saying anything, Sophia ducked her head and kissed each bruise on Lukas' chest, again with the same gentle treatment. The whole thing was not meant to be sexual, more caring, accepting, showing that she didn't mind the bruises or the injuries. She wished that she was literally able to kiss them better, but it wasn't possible, though she was perfectly happy to kiss him. She kissed his bandaged knuckles very gently before returning her face to level with his and letting her lips press against his once more. ”You are, truly amazing.” she whispered to him, kissing him in between the words. ”No amount of bruises, cuts, scrapes or anything is going to change how I feel about you Lukas. Don't worry about them.” she added in the same whisper, running her fingers through his hair gently.
Then she kissed him again, kissing him how she instinctively knew he wanted to be kissed. Kissing with closeness and gasps and tongues and roaming hands and desperation and occasional nibbling teeth and moans and the need for more. Sophia's hands ran across Lukas' shoulders, down his arms and back again before reaching into his hair to hold him close to her. Her lower legs hooked behind his knees, one leg slipping between his. Sophia couldn't distinguish between the two them anymore – they weren't Lukas and Sophia, they were simply a man and a woman in love.
Wait, what?
