heart of an automaton , i've got the frequency to turn you on Nora hadn't actually been planning on attending the ball that evening what so ever, but as soon as her mother had rolled up steaming drunk, she'd made a swift exit. Her heels clicked on the floor as she sauntered towards the hall, her lithe frame looking even sleeker with her high heels on. She almost always wore heels so was confidant in them, something she wished she could say about the other females around who seemed to be staggering slightly inelegantly around the place. Nora smirked, her peachy-nude lips parting to show her teeth slightly. Her hands rested gently at her sides, her clutch bag secured in one. Her nails were painted accordingly, a change for Nor who usually had crazy coloured nails that barely matched. No, today they were a deep, dark fuchsia colour, which her toes sported barely there nudes. With her bare back exposed and her dress hugging her figure lovingly, she moved inside where the music was already playing and playing loudly. Sliding her mask down over her eyes, she looked around, a mischievous smile poised.
It was a look that featured often with the raven haired female, always looking as thought she might be up to something sinister, yet intriguing. She was sure that's why she was often approached by people - her smile having a hint of something not quite right about it which was mysterious. She was well aware that her friends would be coming, but as her bright eyes glazed over the people around she couldn't see any. Sighing, a little frustrated, she made her way towards the place she knew she'd meet someone of interest: the bar. Usually she found guys who "couldn't dance" who she'd later drag onto the dance floor or girls who were drowning their sorrows and would soon prove to be wilder and happier than they originally thought. So to the bar she glided, noticing as people glanced at her. Naturally she stood out - she always made sure she did, but she was one of the less ball-ish people there. With her tattoo exposed on her back and her less than lavish mask, she didn't blend in, and she liked it.
Sliding in between two people at the bar, she barely acknowledged them as she looked out across at the bartenders. They were busy, but she knew full well that she would get their attention easily and quickly. Pushing her delicate fingers between her lips, she poised her tongue and let out a sharp whistle in their direction, lifting up her hand and greeting them with a grin as they saw her. Yes, she'd be next. As the bartender made his way over, she smiled, "I will have a shot of Mickey Finn's raspberry, a mudslide on the rocks and a blow job for my good friend here who I jumped in front of", she told the bartender, nudging the person to her right without looking yet again. It was careless, but she'd just been paid and felt a little guilty. Smirking she turned towards the person, "And whatever else you're having", pushing her hair back behind her ears and eyeing them through her mask.

Zac entered the building late. It was never his style to attend formal occasions on time. He adjusted his mask so that it lay on his face comfortably. The numerous amount of people amazed him. It was crazy how many people actually attended this gathering. He dove into the sea of people and made his way straight for the bar. He got the bartenders attention and ordered an alcoholic beverage. Zac found it completely frustrating that the United States had its drinking age at twenty-one rather than eighteen. He took the drink from the bartenders hand and nodded in thanks. He looked around for some female to be open to talk to. Unfortunately all the females he was had a fellow companion with them. That was rather depressing her sighed and walked around. It was not like him to wear a tuxedo, but the ball had called for it. The masquerade idea had rubbed him fondly. It was such a thrill to talk to someone who did not know who you were. Though the masks that some people were wearing were rather revealing. If Zac had not moved here recently, he was sure he could guess some of their identities. Zac was pretty confident at his mask. It did not reveal too much of his face and was different from all the others the males were wearing. His mask had masculine features to it and complemented his face shape.
He sucked down his first drink. The cold alcohol ran down his throat, sending a slight fire down with it. He loved the feel of it. He craved for another one and made his way back. He did not realize how far he had traveled away from the bar. As he went back around to the bar, he once again panned the vast amount of people. No females in there struck his fancy. As he walked up he was met my a female who had cut right in front of him. He looked down at her jet black hair. She did not even acknowledge Zac. Not to lady like Zac had thought. Though she looked like she lacked in manners, she definitely did not lack in looks. Her gorgeous, black hair lay elegantly across her back. He looked down to see what she was wearing. It was not so ball worthy. Zac wondered how this girl even was allowed in. Her tattoo lay open, allowing anyone to see. Something about the look to this woman screamed mystery. It intrigued Zac, no doubt in Zac's mind that he had found her attractive. With a whistle, she called over the bartender who seemed happy to serve her.
"I will have a shot of Mickey Finn's raspberry, a mudslide on the rocks and a blow job for my good friend here who I jumped in front of", she said as she nudged Zac. She did not even care to look at him after she said it. She then looked to Zac with a smirk. "And whatever else you're having", she added. She placed her loose hair behind her ears and eyed Zac through her mask. "Well you sure know how to get a guy's attention", Zac said, his British accent was full. How he hated his accent and would rather not have it. His amber eyes looked in to hers. A smirk grew on Zac's face. He wanted to learn more about this mysterious woman. How was she? Where did she come from? Who did she come with? Zac hoped that she had came with no one. That would mean she could be his for the night, and that was something Zac would enjoy. heart of an automaton , i've got the frequency to turn you on He wasn't half bad looking, Nora thought as she eyed him from behind the black mask. She was picky as hell, but he certainly wasn't far off passing her test and living up to the credentials she had placed in her head. However, she wasn't looking for sex, and expected that that was all he wanted - especially as she'd just bought him a drink called a blow job. Really, she sounded like a slut, but she planned to prove this gentleman wrong. Her cocky smirk broadened to a sulty smile as he spoke. "Well hello there, Mr English", she grinned. Well, that was the final credential for you. Accents were something Nora had been a sucker for since birth, and had even had crushes on teachers purely based on their sexy accent - even if they'd been twice her age and married. "I'll take that as a compliment", she winked as she picked up her shot, the clear blue liquid looking dangerous in it's cup. She was notorious for spilling things so carefully lifted the shot up, tilting it towards the new friend and smirking. "Cheers", she spoke before pressing the glass between plump lips and feeling the sweet liquid disappear down the back of her throat. Delicious. Cherry and raspberry always were her favourite flavours.
Letting the glass rest on the bar, she pushed it forward with her fingernails and turned to face the new person more exactly, her new drink to her side but going untouched. She wanted to savour the raspberry flavour for a minute or two before wasting it away and letting it be replaced with a mudslide. Besides, the ice would chink against her teeth. "So, Mr English, am I going to be buying drinks for just you, or is there a Mrs English floating around here somewhere?", she smirked, arching an eyebrow and gazing around, looking for someone who could've matched him. All the girls seemed to be on the arm of someone else, or not at all what she pictured this Brit with. "Or another Mr, of course. You won't catch me presuming", she grinned. Internally she was praying otherwise, hoping he'd be someone she might share a dance or two with.. maybe something more, in the future, or should she have five too many drinks. Don't be gay, don't be gay, for the love of Jesus, Buddha and Mother Mary do NOT be gay, she thought as she gazed towards him, her eyes boring into him through her mask. The masks amused her, and made her feel playful - she could be Cinderella, and he could treat her like a princess, or at least she hoped so. After all, she was looking for a gentleman, not just someone to fill a physical hole.
"And even if there is.. a few drinks and a dance can't hurt, can it?", she arched a singular eyebrow, a smirk piercing her lips as she swung her hips round so she was facing towards the bar one more, a finger running around the rim of her glass as she held his gaze for a moment before dropping it, her smirk bursting into a full blown grin followed by a small giggle. It was true, she was barely ball material - but damn it she had her invite, so whether she was dressed inappropriately or got so plastered she couldn't walk, she didn't care. Invite, means she can stay, at least that’s what Nora thought. It wasn't like she was having sex in the bathrooms… though had she had a boyfriend, she was sure she'd have christened that area already.

"Well hello there, Mr. English", the black masked woman said as she grinned. Zac hated it when someone pointed out his accent. He had always found it bothersome. What he did not get was how some women actually liked to hear foreign accents, there was nothing more that he would like than to sound like an American. He did not want to snap at her so he just smiled. "I'll take that as a compliment", the girl in front of him said as she winked and lifted her blue tinted, transparent drink. "Cheers", she said before swallowing alcohol. While she said cheers, he also returned the jesture. She sure knew how to take back those shots. Not that he was complaining, he always fancied a girl that could take back a few drinks.
She rested her glass rest on the bar as she pushed it forward. Her hidden face turned towards Zac so that their faces met up. "So, Mr English, am I going to be buying drinks for just you, or is there a Mrs English floating around here somewhere?", a smirked formed on the woman's face. Something about this masked woman intrigued Zac. He felt that she was some sort of phantom and that she would disappear right in front of him. "Or another Mr, of course. You won't catch me presuming", the girl grinned. Zac could not help but laugh at her comment. "And even if there is.. a few drinks and a dance can't hurt, can it?", a smirk once again flow blown on her lips. Though her face was covered by the black mask, he could tell an eyebrow was arched. The look of deep thought on her face made in question what she was thinking about. The look was as if she were almost praying. He put two and two together and made a hypothesis of what she was thinking about. He thought he would put her out of her misery and answer. "No there is not a Mrs. English and the only other Mr. English in my life in my father ," [/b] Zac joked, his accent thick. She swerved her hips to where she was facing the bar. A finger traced the rim of her mudslide. She continued to hold eye contact with Zac before looking down. The smirk that once laid on her mouth mutated into a grin; followed by a giggle. "What is so funny?"[/b] Zac asked. Several questions floated in Zac's head as he talked to her. Whether they all were going to be answered or not he did not know. He hoped that a good half would be answered to he could be relieved. First off, she had asked him if he was here with anyone. First question down, this raven was flying solo to the ball. Two, since she was flirting with him, she was obviously interested in him. He found her technique of flirting was rather adorable. "Now what is a fit young lady like yourself doing without an escort?",[/b] Zac asked. He picked up his drink and took a sip of the alcoholic beverage. The sensation it gave him when it went down his throat was intoxicating. He took another sip before placing it down on the table. A small, almost seductive smile came across his face. Though his accent was a pain in his arse it did come to his advantage. heart of an automaton , i've got the frequency to turn you on Strangers were something a lot of people were scared of. For many, new people freaked them out and made them shy. Since Nora was little, she'd always been boisterous and always been one to make new friends easily, but grabbing them by the hand and dragging them into her mixed up and confusing life. Since her mum had become such a mess, this had only improved. She'd had to look for her family elsewhere, and she was finding new members every day. Nora laughed at his comment about Mr English and nodded slowly, pushing hair behind her ears. It was so soft it just fell out from often, only staying when it was a day or two old. "Well that's promising.. not that I'd dislike you if you were gay.. not at all", she told him, smiling and raising her eyebrows as if they'd prove she was truthful. She forgot about her mask quite quickly and his too, only imagining what was hidden underneath it. She couldn't help but get on with him, and it made her giggle when she realised she'd known him barely two minutes, hadn't seen all his face and was already feeling as if they'd get on..
"It's nothing", Nora smiled, lifting her drink to her lips and sipping it slowly. "It's just bizarre.. this whole.. mask thing..", she told him, running her fingers across the side of his mindlessly, her eyes following her delicate fingers as they moved with the texture. With a small smile she shrugged her shoulders and took another sip of her drink. Common sense was something Nora had lost a long time ago and she lived very much with the moment, occasionally planning up to a week in advance but nothing more. His question spiked a small pang of loneliness in her stomach, the cold hollow feeling spreading slightly. This was true, she had come alone, and but it made her even more sure that she wanted to stick with this young man and not end up alone, like her mum. "I'm just.. a little hard to hold on to", she grinned, shifting the ice in her short glass as she spoke, her eyes moving from the bar top to his carefully. "Too much of a challenge for most", she let a sly smile pull at the corners of her lips to match his ever-gorgeous one beaming back. It was true, Nora was a firecracker and a lot of guys couldn't keep her attentions past hello, nor did they want a whole lot more than just sex. That in it's self lost her attentions and she always found something to move on to.
With a small stifle of laughter she continued, "Besides, that's kind of hypocritical coming from the sexy British boy, isn't it? I mean, come on..", she turned her body out to face the rest of the room, eyeing the gaggles of crystal-donning females, "You could snap up any one of these ladies in what? Four words?", she teased. It was true, or at least Nora expected it was. He was tall, slim, a beautiful smile and a handsome face - not to mention an accent that'd make some of those females weep. No, he had it all, almost, he just needed a bit of cash in his pocket and she was sure he'd already be married by now. "Anyway, who says I couldn't find an escort here?", she justified herself. It was true, and that had been her plan - she was sure Raiden would be knocking around, or Sophia.. though she'd be with Lukas and she didn't fancy being a third wheel. No, she was happier to be a second wheel with this lovely gent.
It was almost like a game to Nora. Neither of them knew their names, or their faces entirely.. a secret, a hidden evening.

The girl laughed as she placed her hair behind her ear. The hair that she had just attempted to place behind her ear fell back to its original location on the side of her face. "Well that's promising.. not that I'd dislike you if you were gay.. not at all", she said. She smiled and raised her eyebrows delicately. "Well I would hope not, but no worries m'lady", Zac said with a grin.
When Zac inquired her about why she was laughing; the girl smiled. "It's nothing", she lifted her drink to her lips and sipped it slowly. Zac lowered his left brow and gave her a questioning glance. "I do not think it is nothing", he said slowly, the words flew out ever so smoothly. "It's just bizarre.. this whole.. mask thing..", she said. Her fingers slid across Zac's, her eyes followed her fingers. She smiled as as she shrugged and once again drank a sip out of her glass. Zac leaned a little closer to the girl. "I think the masks are intriguing. It is thrilling not knowing who I am talking to. Though I assume by the end of the night, there comes a time when you just want to take them off and see who you have been talking to and dancing with the whole night", Zac said in a hushed tone. She would be the only one to hear it. Zac looked into her eyes and smiled almost seductively.
"I'm just.. a little hard to hold on to", she grinned. She shook her glass a little, reordering the ice. Her eyes met his. "Too much of a challenge for most", a sly smile appeared on her mouth to match his. Zac could tell that there was something about this young woman that made her almost unnameable. The way she spoke, flirted, and smiled made him want her. "So your suitors do not have what it takes? That is a bloody shame. Care for me to change that?", he said with a wink of his left eye. He loved flirting with women. They always were mysterious to Zac. It was odd how a woman could make men fight over her. He knew this girl was no different. She seemed like a heartbreak. She had said she was a challenge. Zac wanted to try the challenge she called herself. He did not want to brag, but he assumed he could acquire her. By the end of night she would be his, Zac just knew.
A little laugh exited from in between her lips. "Besides, that's kind of hypocritical coming from the sexy British boy, isn't it? I mean, come on..", the girl said as she faced herself towards the ballroom which had loads of people on. She took attention to the females that seemed to be alone tonight. "You could snap up any one of these ladies in what? Four words?", she teased. Zac followed the girls eyes. She was probably right. American women found guys with accents ten times hotter than they usually were. Zac laughed slightly. "Actually all I would need to do is walk by and their head would be turned and they would be head over heels when I would say hello. So only word actually", Zac teased back. "Besides none of them caught my eye when I came in. You are the one that intrigues me", Zac said. He took another sip from his drink. He let the alcohol sit in his mouth a bit before he left it escape down into his throat. A smile formed on his lips. "Anyway, who says I couldn't find an escort here?", she said. "True", Zac said looking out at the crowd. He assumed that there would be plenty of guys here that would like to get a chance with this woman sitting before him. "And by that, I hope you mean me", Zac said. He loved this feeling he had. It was as if he was taking a risk saying these words. Tonight Zac could be however he wanted to be, though he was completely letting him be himself. It was just the thrill of knowing this person did not know you. He waited for reaction as he finished the last of his drink.
