riley was late. yet again. he was meant to be meeting destiny but he'd forgotten to put batteries in his alarm clock yet again. he wasn't organized and it made him angry. he'd put his alarm clock in the bin. if he was going to get up in a morning, he needed a better alarm clock than that. riley wasn't even dressed yet. he'd only been awake for about fifteen minutes. he'd just taken a shower and was now trying to figure out what to wear. he didn't have time to get breakfast so he'd have to go to starbucks or something on the way to the park. not that that bothered him. starbucks made way better coffee and hot chocolate than he could even dream about making. it was like heaven, to him. and here he was, thinking about starbucks when he was walking around his bedroom wearing nothing but a white towel around his waist. he felt so out of character. like someone with ocd would feel if they'd forgotten to put a certain thing in it's correct place. he didn't like to admit that he liked things being perfect. perfection meant power. and he liked being powerful. even if it made him a jerk at times. he didn't care. that was who riley was and he wouldn't change for anyone. though, he decided changing from a towel to some clothing would be a good choice now. instead of sitting on a bed and thinking about power. riley shook his head, scowling at himself for a second before pushing himself off the bed and walking to his wardrobe. he sighed, pulling out boxers and then dropping his towel. he slipped his boxers on, folding the towel up and then putting it on his bed. now he had at least one item of clothing on, he could walk around properly without worrying that someone would walk in and catch him in just a towel. that wouldn't be cool. at all. riley mentally slapped himself. he needed to focus. he blamed the sleep he hadn't got last night. and he'd probably blame that on the girl he supposed to have been meeting fifty minutes ago. nearly one hour late wasn't good for riley. not one single bit.
mentally punching himself this time, he opened one of his drawers. he sighed, picking the first pair of jeans he saw and pulling them on. he fastened them up and then smiled to himself, closing the drawer with his foot and then opening another one. shirts, now. he sighed, pulling out a plain blue one and then deciding it was good enough. he pulled it on and then closed that drawer too. did he need a jacket, now? riley walked to his window, pushed it open and then put his head out for a second. it was fairly warm outside. warm enough to leave the house without a jacket or a hoodie. and warm enough to wear sunglasses. he nodded, leaving the window open and then walking back to his bed. he opened his sock drawer, taking out a pair and then pulling them on as quickly as he could without them being messed up. he then pulled his trainers out from underneath his bed and slipped them on, doing up the laces and then frowning. he undid them and then redid them up, nodding and standing up slowly. he needed his things, now. riley walked back to his wardrobe, grabbing his wallet and checking the contents. he had enough money plus his credit card. he threw his wallet on the bed and then picked up his phone from one of his other shoes in the bottom of the wardrobe. he hid things so nobody but him could find them. riley checked the time, cursing mentally and then walking to his bed after closing the wardrobe doors behind him. he put his wallet into one of his pockets and then sent destiny a text. it was short and sweet and not too 'suck uppy'. okay. maybe it was the latter. it basically said 'heyhey dessy. sorry i'm going to be late. i really really really am sorry. i love you and i'll be there as soon as possible!! lovelovelovelove xxxxxx'
he sighed, putting his phone in his pocket and then picking up his sunglasses from the bedside table. he slipped them onto his face and then walked to the door. he grabbed his keys from the bowl next to the door before walking out. he closed and locked the door behind him, turning down the hallways and then walking fast down it. he walked a little faster as he got outside, jumping down the steps outside his house. he sighed to himself, he wouldn't bother walking. he was too late already. checking he had his car keys too, riley walked towards his car. he pressed the button on his keys, smiling when his car bleeped, meaning it was unlocked. riley didn't bother opening the door, he just jumped over the door as the top was down. he pulled his seatbelt on, put the keys in the ignition and then drove towards the park. dessy didn't have to know he'd been lazy, did she? she'd probably find out, anyway. he rested his hand on the door, frowning at the amount of time it was taking him to actually get to the park, even in his car. he knew that if he'd walked, he'd have probably been there already. he didn't want to dwell, though. he hadn't been late on purpose. finally, he was able to pick up the pace. he got to the park entrance, parking his car and then putting the top up. he got out, locked his car and then walked into the park gates, frowning. he couldn't see dessy yet. riley walked a little further into the park, smiling finally when he saw her. he took a deep breath and walked towards her. he stopped when he got to her, taking his sunglasses off and smiling innocently at her. "you couldn't be angry with this face, even if you tried." he said, still smiling and using 'puppy dog eyes'. he'd seen himself do that face in the mirror. it was irresistible. to him, anyway.

in all honesty, destiny was expecting him to be late. by him, she meant riley. he had a tendancy to be late at times. but still, maybe it'd be different this time. maybe he'd get up on time, maybe he'd get to the park time, maybe they could hang out on time. she looked at the time on her phone. fifteen minutes late. nope, there wasn'ta hope in hell that he was on time and she had the strangest feeling he was going to be beyond late this time. she could've been at home right now, taking her time getting ready and still being with her two year old son, beau. she loved that boy so much and after she was pregnant with him, everything went on hold. she didn't go to university for a further education. she stayed at home to be a full time mother. her father said he'd fund her for now, he had money to spend anyway. and she lived in a small apartment by herself with her son. but her brothers were in the same apartment block so family was always near. and then she had all her friends to help out and keep her company. being a full time mum wasn't fun at times. all your friends and family were working or at school and making a life for themselves while she was at home, being the best mother possible.b it made sense though, considering she was the reincarnation of the titan leto, who was the goddess of motherhood and all. and no doubt, she loved being beau's mother. he was a darling and had a great personality. he had her big brown eyes, but had a mop of wavy blonde hair on his head, from his father obviously. he also had olive skin like his mother, but his face shape resembled the father. and who was the father? a hook up from when des was that kind of girl. she couldn't even recall his name, but could picture him perfectly. he left town before she could tell him that he was a father, and she didn't have his number or any contact, so she was a single mom. one who could be with her son for an extra couple of minutes if she knew riles was gonna be late.
destiny's outfit was quite casual, for her anyway. she used to be so glamoous twenty four-seven. she needed perfect hair and erfect make up and the most stylish of clothes on and to be on trend with the most amazing clothes. but she didn't have time for all the shopping anymore, nor did she have much time to go out. she decided this morning that it was just riley. she didn't need to impress him. she didn't need to wow him with gorgeous hair or spectacular make up or standing out of the crowd with great clothes. sure she liked to look good, but jeans would do. of course jeans would do, but hey, she was in the mood for something a little girlier than jeans today. her son would never undertsand the complexities of girls fashion problems. unless of course, he grew up fashion conscious and knew how to dress. ooh, that'd be nice. but she wasn't going to force him into anything. if he showed an interest in anything as he grew, up he'd let him try it out. because that's what mothers did. anyway, today she slipped on a nice shirt and belt, so she looked quite dainty. she sat on a park bench, glaning at the time on her phone every couple of minutes, although it felt like hours. she felt self conscious when people watched her sitting there on a bench by herself. seriously, she looked like a prostitue waiting for someone, or so that's what dessy thought they were thinking. she jumped a little when she felt her phone vibrate in her hand. a message from 'riley the smiley c:' yes, destiny had cool nicknames for almost everyone on her phone. she was cool like that. she read the message, then smirked. quickly she replied 'my god riles, you're such a suck up. its almost an hour now and you're not here! love you too and all, but you'll have to make it up to me! :c xx' she wasn't really angry, nor was she impatient. she was just really bored waiting here in the same spot. she was having that dilemma where you think 'ooh i'll go somewhere for a minute' but then you think 'ahh they might come in the time i'm gone and i'm not here so i can't go!' oh destiny.
she'd now gotten to the point where she didn't care what people thought of her sitting here for about an hour. she'd gotten a couple of weird looks from the people who'd also been in the park for as long as her but were doing something. she was tempted to ring smiley riley up and tell him off for making her look like such a loser. but she went against that, as he would show up. he wouldn't dare show up one of his besties, especially not mommy purcell. she was a young mother, she could be hormonal when she wanted to be. she glanced around the park, and her eyes lit up when she seen her smiley riley frowning, obviously because he couldn't find her. oh she would make him pay. she stood up and wiped the smile off her face as he finally spotted her and walked towards her. she kept that straight face, and at his words, she just quirked a questioning eyebrow. "uhm, i could riley. like now," she never called him just riley, ever. always riles, or smiley riley, or smiles. he was a smiley chap, and the name suited. but uh oh, he must've thought he was in for it now. thank god for dessy's acting classes for five years! or else she wouldn't be pulling this off. she poked his chest. "you better have a good excuse for being, what? an hour late?" she crossed her arms over her chest and looked him straight into those blue eyes. but then a smile cracked on her face. damnit, her cover was blown. "i know, i'm never angry with anyone really." she laughed, greeting him with a hug around the waist. "so how are you, smiley?" she beamed at him. awh, she loved her friend.

the worst part about being late was the fact that destiny was a mother. he knew his own mother was way too hormonal when she'd just had his little brother, lucas. she still was, actually. riley knew that all mothers acted off sometimes and maybe riley being latr would make dessy's fuse just blow. he hoped it didn't. he liked it when she was in a good mood because it made him happy to know that she was. he was half expecting her to turn around, slap him and tell him to go home while she went back to see beau. he realized now that the hour waiting for him could have been spent with her little boy. he wasn't feeling too great about that. riley rubbed the back of his neck, still smiling at dessy. she was standing and she looked quite pretty, today. she always did. he'd often thought of her as a milf. he'd just thought she was quite hot when she hadn't got beau. now he could call her a milf without being offensive. the last time he'd said it to her, he hadn't noticed any hostility towards him. he'd call it her later to make her happy. well, it might make her angry with him. he'd have to risk it. actually.. the fact her arms were folded across her chest didn't make him feel any better. he bit his lip, frowning when she called him riley. he was in trouble. big time. he wasn't used to being called riley by destiny. he blinked at her and then looked at the floor, feeling like a scolded puppy instead of a cute one with big, blue eyes. he'd gotten her text message earlier and he would make it up to her. whatever she wanted, he'd get it for her. something for beau. an ice cream. three ice creams. whatever, he'd do it. the stupidest thing and he'd do it if it made her happy. he loved his best friend way too much.
"no, don't be angry with me dessy. it won't ever happen again. i promise. don't be mad." he sighed, looking back at her face. she looked so serious. it actually scared riley. he frowned, biting his lip again harder. a good excuse? erm. he'd been too lazy to put batteries in his alarm clock was a good one, right? no. it wasn't. shut up. he rubbed the back of his neck lightly and then looked down at the sunglasses in his hand. "uhm. well. you see, about that.. i erm.. just.. my alarm. it died.." he looked at her and then frowned at her smile. she'd got him. again. like she always did. he poked her back and then shook his head. "you're so evil to me, dessy." he chuckled and then frowned at the waist hug. he put his arms around her, pulling her in for a proper, riley hug and smiling. "yeah, yeah. i know. i know. got me, again." he chuckled, sighing. "missed ya, sister." he said quietly and then let her go, smiling at her. he shrugged at her words, looking up at the sky and then back to her face. "i'm pretty good, thanks. kinda annoyed with myself for being late. but i'm just happy i got to see you." he grinned at her, poking her gently in the arm and then sighing. "how about dessy? how're you doing. and beau? how's he? does he miss his uncle smiley?" he laughed lightly and then sighed. he was sorry for making her wait in the park on her own for so long.
riley looked around for a second and then waited for her to answer. there were quite a few people in the park, actually. he hadn't expected it. riley shook his head and then looked back to destiny, looking down at her clothes again. "you look very pretty, today, dess." he said with a nod. he liked complimenting her. it got him in her good books and that was always a good place to be, right? with any girl. plus, he was starting his epic amount of sucking up to make things up to her. starting with compliments. then it would move onto buying her something. and then he'd just do whatever she said. he didn't really mind though, not with dess. hopefully she wouldn't make him do anything incredibly stupid. hopefully.

dsetiny wasn't actually a very hormonal mother, surprisingly enough. well, surprising to everone but herself. she knew she wouldn't turn into a total hormonal cow.after beau. she had all rights to though, considering she was sixteen having her first kid and she had to put her life on hold. anyone else would've been a demon, so angry at everything about life. but destiny didn't see the point. nobody did this to her, why take it out on them? it was her fault. then again, if alf had been there with her the whole time, he would've gotten a little abuse. it took two to tango, afterall. but nearly two years on, she was back to herself, both emotionally and physically. she definitely didn't look like she'd just had a baby. flat and tight tummy and no saggy mummy boobies. as riles said, she was a milf. he knew how to make her feel better. if she was looking pretty now, when she was “pissed off”, then she must've looked smokin' when she was in a good mood.of her mind was laughing so hard right now, knowing she had him properly fooled that he was in actualt trouble with her for being an hour late, and hour that could've been spent with beau, an hour that could've been spent in bed. it was an hour that she wouldn't get back so she wasn't going to complain about it. no point. he was adorable though, biting his lip and frowning. he obviously hadn't kept her waiting on purpose, he wasn't being 'fashionably late', because he seemed like he was geuinely feeling bad for keeping her waiting alone in the park. awh bless him. now she felt sort of bad for doing this to him.
”hmph,” she puffed, waving a hand as if wving away his words. she was good at this whole acting thing. but the look on his face, she could see he didn't want to upset her. which he hadn't at all, but she had fooled him into that. her smile stretched into the giant happy one she was seldom seen without when he called her evil, although you could see the cheeky glint in her eyes. she shrugged. ”you deserved it. i was here waiting for a whole hour!” she informed him, even though he clearly already knew. she giggled as he pulled into one of his infamous hugs. she tightly squeezed him back. she nodded, grinning. ”missed you too, bro. its been ages!” she exclaimed, hugging him quickly again. ”awh don't be annoyed, i really couldn't care less. beau's having way more fun at my brother's than he would with me anyway,” she laughed. her oldest brother loved his nephew very much, and loved spending time with him. ”i'm actually really good! i recorded a couple songs, so my dad's doing them up,” she told him. destiny's father owned some big record company in the city. and she certainly had a musicall talent, considering she could sing and play the piano and guitar. so he let her use the studios now and again. ”beau is doing great! another tooth's coming through, a bottom front one!” she squealed excitedly. everything about motherhood excited her so much. ”and of course he misses you,” she added smiling. she sighed as for what seemed the twentieth time, he sighed. she placed both hands on either side of his face, pulled him down to her and kissed his forhead. ”honestly, is fine being late, lets go have a good day now, okay?”
destiny rolled her eyes at him and smirked. she poked his chest. ”you, riles, are a giant suck up,” she laughed, sticking her tongue out at him in a playful manner. of course it was still good to compliment her. could turn any other girl to putty. but not des with smiley. she loved him, but not in that way. so compliments from him didn't make her all gooey. it more made her want to slap him playfully and tell him to shut up. but she'd play nice for now. ”nahh, not really, it's literally just a shirt and belt,” she laughed. actually saying that outloud made her seeem like such a bad dresser. shirt and belt sounded something you wore when you just woke up and were just quickly running to the shop. but somehow, it'd looked decent on her, since she decorated it up a bit. but still, she wouldn't call it pretty, at all. just casual.

riley suddenly felt sort of protective of her. well, he always had done ever since he'd met her. there's was something about her that made him feel brotherly towards her. he didn't know if it was the fact she had a child and the dick of a father had just walked. or whatever he'd done. whatever the reason, he would always be there for dessy. whatever she needed, he'd give her. anything at all. if she told him to leave her alone, though, he didn't think he could do that. he just loved her too much. he'd never felt anything stronger than friendship between them and that was good. he was pretty sure dessy hadn't felt that way towards him, either. sure, he thought she was hot. she was. there was no doubt about that. she had a kid and she was still pretty amazing. she hadn't turned into this old hag who yells and screams at everyone who comes near her little baby. she was happy all the time. riles loved that because it meant he got to see her smile. he loved her smile more than anything in the world. because her smile made him smile. it was contagious. seeing her made him smile. knowing she was safe. he just loved her. so much. too much for words. so much that he was actually pretty upset with the fact she'd seemed angry at him. that was the worst feeling. he'd never want her to be angry with him. because he loved her smile, he hated her frown. he hated seeing her confused and lost and scared. and angry. can't forget angry. he wondered if she was scary, though. if she ran around slapping everyone. he'd witnessed her 'angry face' but he didn't want the attitude that came with it. he could deal with it, yeah. he didn't want it. not because he was pleased with keeping on her good side, but because he didn't want to see her upset. ever. and angry was a form of upset, right?
he shook his head at her slightly, frowning when she 'hmph'd him. he didn't like that. was she pissed at him? he sighed and then grinned when she said she missed him too. he nodded and then sighed. "i know, dessy. far too long!" he chuckled and then rolled his eyes slightly. it mattered to him that he'd ruined time with beau. he sighed and then shook his head, smiling again when she said that. "well, that's true. guys are waaay much more fun than you girls." he smirked, poking her nose gently and then laughing lightly. he couldn't really remember dessy's brother much. only that he got on very well with beau and loved to see him. his grin widened when she said she was doing good. he liked that. "woo! well done. i gotta hear them, y'know. don't go hiding your songs from me, missy." he nodded, his voice serious on the last part. but he wasn't as good an actor as dess was and it made him laugh. "but seriously, you gotta show me them. i'm not missing 'em." he nodded. then she went on to talk about beau and that made him smile even more. "awww! bless him. i wanna see him. i miss him like.. millions. more than i missed you, in fact." he smirked and then shook his head. "not the best thing to say to you. nevermind." he hit his head slightly with the palm of his hand.
"good!" he grinned. "tell him i'm gonna come see him soon, yes?" he nodded and then rolled his eyes when she kissed his head. "gee, thanks." he laughed and then nodded when she said that. "yeah. it's gonna be a great day." he put in and then looked around, sighing slightly. it was already a good day today. he'd met her and things were looking up again. he felt happy and warm. he hoped she did too. riley raised his eyebrows when she poked his chest, poking her back and then laughing again. so he was a suck up. oh well. he rolled his eyes simply, not bothering to defend himself. he looked down at what she was wearing and then took her hat off. he put it on himself and smiled at her. riley took his sunglasses and put them on her, grinning. "there. now we rock." he said simply, smirking lightly. he laughed when she said it was just a shirt and belt, shaking his head. "well you know how to pull it off well, then." he said simply and then looked around the park again. nobody seemed to be looking anymore and that was good. though, he didn't think the hat he was now wearing would divert attention. a guy in a girl's hat was something to stare at, really. he looked back at her. "c'mon then. what're we doing today?" he asked her, grinning and tilting his head slightly.

riley was like the fifth brother she never had, almost like her twin you could say. sure she was close to her brothers, but riley was the one person she went to for absolutely everything. she told him everything about anything that was going on with her. she went to him, when she needed a shoulder to cry on. he was the first one she ran to when her moter died. she couldn't talk to her family, they were all mourning too. sure, riles had known her mother, but he wasn't a son. she could talk to him with a lesser chance of him bursting to tears if she spoke to him about it. of course, she was in pretty much hysterics about it. her female role model was gone. des was the woman of the house now. she'd never see her daughter walk down the aisle when she grew up, she'd never see her grandchildren. at the time, she was with alfie only about a month. but riley was always her go to guy. she stayed overnight when she went to him, she wanted to be in his smiling company. he could always make her feel better. by cracking some lame joke that was so bad, you had to laugh. he calmed her. and she loved him a lot. that was obvious. this was probably the longest period she'd gone without seeing him, so him being late wasn't going to ruin anything at all. she wouldn't let it. she was just so excited to see him. honestly, destiny didn't have any romantic feelings towards him. sure he was a babe, amazingly gorgeous. she knew it, and she told him. plus have you seen those abs? but she wouldn't go there with him. it seemed a bit much. nothing had ever come close to that. they'd never gotten smashed drunk with each other, and she knew they wouldn't when sober. and if it did, it'd be an accident. she needed him, not like that though. she was always there to help him with absolutely everything.her being upset or angry or anything definitely wasn't something anyone saw often. she, in the words of monthy pythons hit movie, always looked at the bright side of life.
oh wow, he really was a big giant puppy when he thought he was in trouble with her. it did make her feel bad about doing it to him, but hey, a little revenge on him fro being that late was okay, right? ”oh really? i beg to differ! girls are sooooo much more fun, seriously. guys have nothing on us!” she smiled goofishly at him. yeah, she was a bit of a goof, a nerd, but not a dork. a dork is a whales penis after all. sorry, thought i'd put that out there. dessy's oldest brother elliot was twenty four, and well on his way in life. sure he was single, riding solo, but he was a purcell. he didn't need to be tied down to be happy. he was a happy go lucky single guy who no doubt loved beau with all his heart. so maybe he hadn't been too found on the idea that he'd have his first nephew or niece from his sister who was six years his junior. but that was just the initial reaction. now he could see des could turn everything around and do the whole motherhood thing. she laughed at his bad attempt to try acting to be serious. she patted his cheek. ”stick to the day job, darling. acting's not your thing. and yeah, i will hide them from you. they're top secret. shh!” she put her finger on her lips as she 'shh'd and the smiled. ”yeah i will, don't worry. especially since you'll just nag me to let you hear them,” she laughed at him. ”as if you missed him more than me! without me, that boy wouldn't have been given life! hmm, i'm gonna remind him of that when he's older...” she laughed at the idea. ”facepaaaaaalm!” she giggled as he, indeed facepalmed. wow, destiny was a giant dork. but what were you going to do? it was cute.
destiny stuck her tongue out at him when she spotted him roll his eyes. ”treasure that. not many people get a destiny hope purcell kiss on the forehead,” she joked, laughing. ”it will be a great day, so how will we kick it off? something fun!” she beamed up at him. she really could be a childish, giddy being now and again. if you just met her like this, you'd wonder how she was responsible enough to have a young child. she was almost always like this before she was pregnant, full of life and jumping around like a granny on poppers. but then she had to take it down a notch when she had beau. she had to act responsible. she smirked when he poked her back. oh yeah, he knew he was majorly sucking up right now. at least he wasn't denying it. she didn't really care though, he didn't need to, as she told him. she wasn't mad with the lateness. she was just glad he didn't stand her up! she giggled as he took her hat, reaching to take it but leaving it as he placed it on his head. he laughed as he placed his sunglasses on her face, fixing them up right. she gave a wide grin up towards him and burst out laughing at how silly he looked in her hat. ”i think you look... good with that on,” she managed through laughs. ”umm umm ummm... she wondered out loud, stroking her chin. she glanced around the park and spotted the roundabout in the playground. she pointed at it. ”we could start off there! and go really really really fast on it,” she laughed, grabbing his hand and dragging him towards it. she sat herself on it and grasped onto one of the bars. ”you're stronger, so you push then hop on!” she smiled.
